Awww...Vince is so sweet. But he too will leave one day...but not for awhile. I am happy to hear that Jason has a girlfriend. So I guess not all the girls in Norfolk are ugly after all. Do you think Jason might be interested in a temporary sub-lease? CJ is trying to find someone to stay at his place while his ship is underweigh in Oct., Nov., and Dec. He is going to have to survive without a vehicle until they come back. I just cant see paying for full coverage insurance on a new truck while it sits in Norfolk not being used. They have dishes and bath towels and air matresses, a big nice TV and a couch futon thing and a dinette table. It's better than what I had at age 19! The rent is $800/mo. and of course he splits that with his room mate. He might take less than $400 tho just so he can sort of ease the pain of paying for a place that he is not living in. They have a 3rd guy that has been sleeping on the couch but he is on the same ship and will be gone too. I know that Tara's independence is a load off you. What is she studying?

They're all growing up! You do still have Vince for a good long while though. Tara is probably having the time of her life with her new independence. Growing pains...I hope that's all it is. CJ was not having a good time and then over the weekend his room-mate totaled his truck. No serious injuries, thank the Lord, but he should not have let him drive it. He only had liability insurance so now those two don't have a way to get to work from their apartment. I hope they move back to the ship but there is the issue of the lease. Time for CJ to man up and straighten out this one on his own! But I can tell you that I have had a really hard time staying out of it. It was a clunker and we had plans to upgrade in January but now I'm not sure we need to do that. Maybe he needs to walk for awhile. OMG!...I drove up to Virginia weekend before last and stayed 3 days...girl that apartment was so nasty. I cleaned it up good and made it livable but it is not in the best neighborhood and its a real old complex so it's kinda icky...but clean! They had hardly any food so I bought a few groceries and cooked them a good meal which was tough with limited dishes but I managed. Right now I am really going to try my best to stay out of CJ's business and let him struggle through on his own. I have been entirely too involved and too quick to straighten out every little thing for him and that is not good for him. My older son and my husband both told me this and I know they are right. It has been so hard for me to let go. How are you handling it, especially now that 2 of yours have flown the coop? I can't think of much else than my son so far from home and on his own. It terrifies me.

I'm baaa-aaaak! Boy did I lose touch! I must apologize for my extended abscense. My excuse? Just too busy with work. From your previous posts, it sounds like Jason is doing well. Congrats on that warfare pin. I'm so proud of him. Has he found a place yet? CJ has an apartment with a buddy in Virginia Beach. He has another surge in October which should last about 4 months. He has decided that he doesn't like the Navy and wants out. I hope it is just
a passing phase but he sounded so unhappy when we talked about this. I think he made a big mistake choosing to go undesignated and not complete MA school. Because he is undes, he gets to do crappy jobs like painting and sweeping. He is capable of so much more and feels like he is wasting his time. He is wanting to go back to MA school and finish up just to have a rate...any rate! He doesn't like his job (deck department) and he doesn't like Norfolk. I feel so bad that he is not happy but there is nothing I can do. I think he has good days and bad but so does everyone. He just might be a tad bit spoiled and since he's not getting his way, well then he just gonna hate it. Does Jason like Norfolk? CJ says there is nothing fun to do and all the girls are ugly! Aww, poor CJ...stuck in a city full of ugly girls! Yep, that boy s spoiled. I'll try to do better at staying in touch...Love to Jason. Take care

In case I don't get to chat with you later today, I wanted you to know that I will be thinking about you tomorrow. I'm hoping you have a very Happy Birthday!! Do you have any special plans? I'm assuming since the 4th falls on the weekend that you will have tomorrow off from work. I get your B-Day off!!! Billy and Justin will leave S.D. after class later today, so he's expecting to get here late tonight. They don't have to go back until Mon. With it being the 4th of July weekend, there will be lots for the boys to do. Every year at this time, Prescott hosts what they call "Prescott Frontier Days". This is the birth place of the "World's Oldest Rodeo". The rodeo goes on for a week with contestants traveling here from all over the country. I bought tickets for the boys to attend it on Sat. afternoon and then it's back to my place for a B-B-Q with family and friends. My new place is going to come in handy this weekend, lol. We'll all watch the fireworks that night. Billy recently met another girl from P.V. on My Space. He really seems to be interested in her. He and Justin are planning to do some double dating while their here. Of course, that means Billy's new friend will have to find a date for Justin. Could be a very interesting weekend, but fun for all, I hope. Justin is from PA, so coming to AZ might be a bit of a culture shock for him.
Enjoy your B-Day and holiday weekend. If you get a call from Jason tell him I said hello. I'll be burning my blue candle.

Hi my friend! I wanted to get a message to you before any more days slipped by. I've gone 10 days without posting a message to anyone. I think that's a record for me, lol. I've just been so busy and haven't had time to get on here. So glad to know that Jason made it back to VA alright. Whew!! Close call with the semi. I hate passing them on the freeway, especially on the winding mountain areas. Just thankful nothing serious resulted from the incident. His truck sounds real nice. Sierra's are really good trucks and I like their body styles. I laughed about the stick shift comments. Billy doesn't really have that experience either (just alittle when he was a beginner). I am hopeful too that both the boys do well at managing their finances. Billy's working on paying down his credit card. It helps not having a girlfriend, lol.
I pick up the keys to my new place tonight after work. I'm exhausted!! I've been going home every night and packing and organizing. Myself and some friends are moving some stuff tonight and then the remainder tomorrow. I'm taking the day off from work tomorrow to get this all done. I bet you're looking forward to getting into your place that you remodeled.
Billy decided to drive home for the 4th of July weekend. Originally he had said he would just stay in S.D. since he's coming later in July anyway. He's bringing another sailor home with him. This young man was in the same bootcamp division with Jason and Billy. He's an IC and has some of the same C-schools as Billy and then will be headed to Norfolk to a cruiser. You have any special plans for the 4th? I know someone who has a B-day coming on the 3rd. Can you believe it's been almost a year since our boys left for the Navy? I was really sad this time last year : (
Got to go! Have lots to do since I'm not going to be here tomorrow.

Supposed to be July 2nd. He said "some thing happened, but it should still happen on time." ? you know how that goes with the Navy! some paperwork issues probably. Some of my good friends sailors are still waiting on PO because they lost their indoc paperwork from their files or something like that.
