Regina Maas - I feel for your daughter. I don't know if I would have been able to do what she has done. Let her know that we are praying for her. Send her lots of pictures and videos of lil Johnny,(if she has a laptop or access to a computor), not...
Sue and Carol F. Thank you for your thoughts. I told Josh what you ladies had said, and his reply was "I like those ladies" i.e., "spoil him rotten and eating good meals". Hope your Seabees are doing good, along with everybody elses.
Mother of three children. My middle son died in infancy in 1992. My oldest, Joshua is on active duty with Unit 3, Seabees out of Port Hueneme, CA. My daughter is a freshmen in high school. I am currently employed as a care taker for the elderly.
I am here to support or represent my:
Joshua
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was concerned or afraid, Needed to learn more about it, Was proud
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
Patience. Learning to let my son go and be the person he wants to be.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger, This was a maturing experience, This was the best decision he/she could have made
Hi Chris. I was looking at your dates for Joshua, and you son and my daughter where working side by side a few times. She was from NMCB17 and did security Convoy for Unit3. They all went out with a bang. It was the largest group to go from Port Hueneme, CA. They sent every state there to deploy at the same time. He would remember her. She was the only woman on the Security Convoy Team. You can't miss the Jerv. There where only a very few that went out at that time. They where only her team. My daughter has since been deployed to Mississippi to train the men who will take the JERV's out again. I hope he gets home soon. Please tell him that my daughter told us that Unit 3 & Unit 1 where the hardest working men she ever saw!
Hi Chris,
Am so glad for you that he is coming home next week. I bet you are very excited!!!!
Hope he will be happy after all he has gone thru with doing the Reserves. What is his plan on a career for him then?
I love looking at your pictures of him and all with what he does as a Seabee. Thanks for posting them.
Yes, I haven't said much on the Seabee site lately. Haven't had much to say really. Just have been reading/lurking.
My son is just still hanging out here. He will take his last 2 classes to complete his AA in Auto. Tech. the end of March. He is waiting to hear about a job too.
He did turn in the DD 368 form to try to go Active so we shall see what happens. He really still wants to be in the Navy fulltime.
So do post when he gets home! Am glad he will have some to relax when he gets home too. Do let me know what his life plans are. Am just curious on what our Seabees do.
Hope all is well with you too.
If I understand correctlly, your son has been in the Navy for a year? Wow..he has SEEN alot already! Will he be able to come Home' when he gets back in the states'? march 11 is comming soon~~

Hi Chris ~ My son just graduated from "A" school (EO) in Fort Leonard Wood, MO. and is headed for Port Hueneme Nov 28th. We are from Odessa, Texas (West Texas) and is looking forward to California.
We have been checking on flights. Our son is stationed at Coronado.
Have you checked travelocity.com? We can fly round trip from St Louis to San Diego for around $330 to $350, each.
Josh has been a BUCR for a year, Just finished a 6 month deployment. Hoping to be back in the States real soon now. I will keep Aaron in my thoughts and prayers. LOL
Richard Is a ET 6 years and Aaron is a Seabee EO reservist. They both love it, Richard just started SCC in Great Lakes and Aaron is in Mo. for trainning. They told Aaron he would be going to Iraq when he is finished , so were a little worried about that. And your son?
We are so glad you are here and look forward to hearing about your sailor This is is a great support group for all
What is your sailor doing with the navy?
