Hi, LM Coil. Yes, you probably can learn a lot hanging around here. My son just graduated A school yesterday for AS. He really likes the base in Pensacola.

I will say again, "THANK YOU" to all soldiers and sailors. Everyone of you is a HERO! Happy Thanksgiving to all of you. I'm thankful for you.

Hi, MISMYSAMI. I agree with Tom'sMom. No matter how much time you have to prepare, you can't be prepared. If there is an opening now for what your dauther wants to do, go for it. I know it will be difficult with the Holidays coming up, and she won...

Hey, Wendyloo. Sounds like your sailor will be having a good time. That's great that she can spend some time at home. And it's also cool that she is really excited about her next duty station. Jake is doing well. I think he's ready to get out of F...

You will have a wonderful holiday, Wendyloo! Very cool. Where will she be going after her leave? I was planning to go to Pensacola this weekend, but Jake called and said that he would not be able to leave until the 30th. So trip is delayed - whate...

Well, I was planning to attend Jake's A school graduation, and then drive back to Michigan with him, but now he is on hold in Pensacola until 11/30. I though about calling the Navy and throwing my weight around because I'd made vacation plans to b...

Most of your travel will be on highways that are cleared of snow and ice quite thoroughly. Also, once you approach Chicago, it is pretty slow moving traffic. If you hit a slippery patch, whatever you do, do not slam on your brakes. You will need t...

Tammy, you have a lot of support here. When we say that we will pray for you, that means we WILL pray for you. I thank God for the wonderful woman who assisted your son. What a blessing!

Hi, Reyes. You're getting really close now. It sounds like you truly have your head screwed on straight. Boot camp will be difficult; it is meant to be so. Don't get involved with the "drama" created by others. My son told me that the first few da...

Hi, AdamsMom. I don't know if I can help, but I have a bit of knowledge because I have been working in the Court system since 1981. If your son is charged with a crime, he has an absolute right to plead not guilty. He can represent himself, hire a...

Hi. If Robert has been in for about three weeks now, the worst of it is probably behind him. My son told me that the first few days really sucked, the first few weeks kind of sucked, and the last four weeks were not bad. He even had some fun in bo...

Patty, that is just great about Wes. I'm so happy for both of you. And I agree with the other ladies - you should not leave this group. Hey, I leave in 4 days to go down to Pensacola and pick up Jake.

Yeah, Cindy, blonde, uh huh, that works for me. Uh oh, wait a minute, I'm a brunette. Nope, not working for me. lol! That's quite alright, I'm with you on that badge of honor thing. Except I'm already wearing worry lines! So, for now, guess my hair dresser is my friend! lol!

Sorry, I left you a brief message on the friends request. So the story is that my son sold the womans phone because he did not know it was stolen. A younger girl gave him the phone at school. Later that day my son sold it on Craigslist. A man from a city about 20 minutes away from here bought it. Then the woman whom it belonged to called it and told the man to bring it back or she would call the police. Now it's been about 2 weeks later and my son said he saw a man speaking to the woman at school(the woman whos phone it was works at the school, which is how the younger girl stole it) So he said he thought it was an officer, he wasn't in uniform though. Just had a notepad, pen, and dressed in a black suit. The woman who it belongs to has the phone now, but was talking to this officer about it and giving him full details of what happened. I do not know why she is bringing it up since she got it back, but I'm just curious if he will be arrested or sent to jail for a long period of time. Any help is great. Thank you so much. I'm sorry that it is very off topic, but he just got back and already we have a problem. He is always very responsible.

Hi Cindy, So happy to add you. I see you are already active on the site and that makes me soo happy. I think that first year or two can be such a stressful time for the parents. Funny, because that seems to be the period of greatest change for our kids! And they seem to come thru that time period so much the better! lol! Us? Well, who's counting the grey hairs at this point???
Love and Prayers,
Beverly

Hi Cindy,
My son is AS and I'm wondering if he is in class with your son. My son's name is Jacob and I see from your page that your son is Jake. I'm going to send a friend request for you so that I can send a personal message to you and we can exchange more information about our sons to find out if they are in class together.Look forward to hearing more from you.

Hi Cindy,

Thank you for your note on my blog. You really said a lot of great things! I have raised my son to be a confident, strong young man and it is very gratifying to see him so excited about making this step. As I said, he's known he's wanted to be in the Navy since he was 10 years old so this is most definitely his dream come true. My comment about not being able to be there for him in time of danger is more a "me" thing... while I definitely don't ever want him to be a Momma's boy as you put it (and Lord knows, haven't we seen enough of those? lol) or to be dependent on me, I can't help but feel a strange sense of loss some how and a bit of fear. I know its all me... and something I'll just need to adjust to - its another step in the "letting go" process is all.

Best of luck to your sailor!!! What will he be doing after A School?

Thanks again for your note! Hope you have a great, blessed day.

Lauren

I'll let you know how it goes! I just recently finished my summer job, and I was ready to head home for California to spend time with my mom and siblings before having to ship out from the east coast, but because of the accident, I've been searching for another part-time job - that way, I have money to pay for the fine. Fortunately, today, I have an interview.

Reyes is my last name, Cindy. And I'm not from a Hispanic decent, but rather Asian (Vietnamese/Pacific Islander). =)

Oh my goodness ... of course I was sober! I would surely be done for! Not just with my Navy career, but I do not want to imagine what my dad would do. 0_0

Thank you for your input Cindy. My father lives in Virginia, and I came to stay with him temporarily (from California) until I leave for Great Lakes in December. My plan is to be courtesy shipped from the east coast.

I have not received a speeding ticket before, nor have I have gotten into any accidents until now. Though I did get a moving violation back home, a couple years back, but I took an online traffic school course for it. But as far as I know, my driving record is still good.

Would you know why my particular incident would be classified as a class 1 misdemeanor?
