Debbie (Kevin's mom), you certainly have made a mom and a girlfriend happy tonite. This is what I call being a true dedicated N4M and your son sound like a great friend to have as well. What a Thanksgiving!

The pictures are great. So are the adopted families that took the sailors under their wings. Both Santa and Sailor look happy!

Kelly, the only reason I think Matt will notice fresh paint, carpet, etc. will be because his old room is upstair on the right side of our house and when he returns it will be on the left. When going upstair the first thing you saw was his room an...

Anti M, I have learned a few lessons from you and some from Kelly. Maybe some of the new moms have not read all comments from way back. All information is appreciated.

The first time we shipped anything my husband went to FedEx (not nothing about this shipping ordeal) and it cost him $38.00 for Matt's phone. I could hardly beieve it. But he had the receipt. He shipped on Friday and it was Tuesday or Wednesday (I...

Tiffany, my son is on the USS Porter. I sure hate to hear about the long delays in school. I know you are excited about the possibility of moving GL. When I was very young (16-17) I lived just south of Chicago at Rantoul AFB (now closed) for a sho...

Tiffany, you are right. My son was probably speaking of himself and I misquoted him. He would be happy to go Ca or Virginia. It is us (his parents) that would like for him to be closer. We miss him.

The only time I can really hear what my son is saying is when he is just awaking from sleep. I am sure there are not curtains, rugs or anything to absorb the sound. Mostly I hear guys in the back ground talking or whatever. I don't believe there i...

Yes, you are the Debbie I was talking to. Somehow I thought it was your son that got orders for Hawaii (how lucky can someone be). My son said they were told they would be going to Virginia for C school. That would make us so happy since we are fr...

Debbie, your son is FC and no longer at GL? My son is just beginning the schools for FC. That was a change just after BC. We thought ET to begin with. Either one is OK with us. Is your son still enjoying that field? I am wondering what that qualif...

Margie, there is a another group on here (William's group) "Great Lakes A School Questions & Answers". It has lots of good information by some Moms that have been around for awhile.

A school info - I don't believe there is a certain date that you can count on. It was a day to day thing for my son. They were told school would be soon but not the exact date. I believe they attend ATT school first, then A school next. Then C sch...

I am thankful for all the special NavyforMoms and very thankful that my son is enjoying the Navy.

Sorry, but my son is on the Porter. I will ask if he knows your son. Just remember, "no news is good news". I realize that is very hard when you don't have any contact with your sailor. It want be long and you will know something.

Wanted to welcome you to the AECF group! Looks like you have a new sailor in the house - congratulations! Is he going to be an ET or an FC when he completes A school? Our son recently graduated from C school, he is an FC and my hubby was an FC for 10 years if you have any questions please let us know I think you will find some great support in the group.
