What a great feeling when you know that he loves his career. I am so happy for both of you. He worked hard to get where he is. No regrets!

About me:
I am a mom! I am a proud mom and always have been. I have wonderful children, a son who is serving in the United States Navy. I also have a daughter that is a senior and will be graduating in June , then off to college to become an elementary school teacher. My husband and I have been very blessed, we can not ask for any more except for our children to be safe and live a happy life . I am proud to be a "Navy Mom", and will shout it out to the world,as well as proud of all the men and women who serve our country and is brave and selfless. God Bless you all.
I am here to support or represent my:
Lewis , graduated Basic, Sept. 21, 2007***Great Lakes***Division 326*** Ship 10
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was concerned or afraid
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
As a Navy mom the most important thing I learned was , learning to let go, or it would eat you up inside. I know my son will be out to sea, and being on a submarine for months at a time. I have to have faith in what he has learned, and that his passion will guide him. I learned to have faith, and how to let go, and that was the hardest thing I have had to learn.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger

Protect these guardians day and night.
And may their trust be thy might. ******

Dear Moms,
God had a plan for all of us moms!!! I just told a friend to not worry because everything will be ok!! But as I do, and as she will , and as all of us will, worrying is all part of it, and moms it is ok, it really is. I believe God had molded us, he molded our emotions, and our hearts to love, to worry, and to always let our sons and daughters know we will always be their moms forever! This my friends, is the ultimate plan, the ultimate life we all live. We laugh, we cry, we shed a tear of joy and of sadness for those who we love and will forever. I tell my son, just because your a sailor now, a man with a avenue to explore, do not think I am going any where, I am, and always will be right by your side , in your thoughts , in your dreams, in your mind , and in your heart, as you will be in mine. I will be there where ever you go!! So moms, this IS gods plan for all of us, and it is a totally awesome one that I relish in every single day of my life !!!! His plan for me is "Being a Mom""And It ROCKS!!!!!!!Thank you Lord

When you were Little, and now a man, a Sailor

When you were a little boy I always held your hand,
I always held your hand to help your little legs up the porch steps.
I held your hand to protect you and shield you when we cross the street,
I'd grab your hand to lift you when you fell, or going through a haunted house, or on a scary ride at the
amusement park.
I held your hand to help you on the bus that first day of school, and when you came home, I'd reach
out my hand and help you off.
I held your hand when we would take walks in the park,… Continue

Cyndi,
Bob is home this weekend and he told me about your son's hand. I am so sorry to hear about his injury. Bob told me how he is on medical hold and that he will be in Groton longer than he expected. I am so sorry to hear that, and I hope that things are ok. I'll be thinking of you and your son.
Best wishes.

Hi there! How exciting to think about Lewis actually getting stationed to do the job he's been training for all these months!. My son once said to me that the sailor who scores highest in their final exams gets his/her first pick on where they are stationed. Do you think this is true? I think there are only 4 or 5 sub-Navy bases-CA, GA, FL, CT & ? Where does Lewis want to go? Well, July 27th will be coming up fast-best wishes to him & You! Talk soon,

Hi Cyndi-Allis well at the moment with my son-He finally has a lap top and web cam so I can see and hear him. It is wonderfu! We talked for almost an hour the other day and it looks like he is staying put at school (thank you) He read you note to me and thinks mom's on this site have very good advice. Ps Kevin says he met Lewis-so that's good too. He thought he would have leave on the 4th but now is almost positive he has watch that day, so we may drive up and visit with him. Gotta go,

HI Cyndi:
I am happy and sad that I spoke with Kevin again last night. He is thinking of volunteering for IRAQ! I am heartbroken about it, but he says they need people there, and he will go up quickly in rank advancement. I am just really upset that they dangle the money and advancement carrot in front of our boys/girls. I am proud, I just want him alive-not too much to ask is it? He still has not met Lewis but is looking for him. Where could he find him? Vicki

Oh Cyndi Kevin finally called on Friday nite! We talked for over an hour. He sounded so good and Happy!! He really loves Groton, CT and the school is so much more relaxed than bc. He has just been overwhelmed (I think) with getting adjusted there. He said 6 guys out of Div 926 went to Groton with him so at least they have each other to hang around with, and having friends is good. He is hoping to even get a 4-day liberty on 4th of July weekend. So I am now looking forward to that. He also wants a cell phone, a lap top, and cookies, cookies, and more cookies. My mom and I are getting together this week to make a few batches of cookies to send up there for all our boys. I hope he runs into Lewis at some point, though, so thanks for asking him to find Kevin for me. How are you doing?? I was out planting more flowers today - I just love gardening. Have a great Sunday!

Cyndi you are the best Navy Mom ever! You really know how to cheer me up, tonight was a good and bad night. I went to the musical "Wicked" with some friends from work and it was a super play. When I got home I checked the phone log only to find an entry from a pay phone, and I knew I missed Kevin's call. I feel so bad about going out to that play and missing his call. Waller is the last name and he is going to Sub school for 4 weeks and then Fire Control Tech school for another 27 - 33 weeks according to his recruiter who called me today. He was calling to see how Kevin was doing and how was graduation. He was not prepared to hear that he hadn't called me yet! So, more tears on my pillow tonight. Maybe he will call back tomorrow-I hope!
You are a wonderful person with all your support to these new moms on this site. Congrats on your son graduating in August. I hope he gets the ship he wants to work on! Talk to you tomorrow,
Vicki

Thanks Cyndi for your kind words. It was a week yesterday that Kevin left for Groton, CT. I am trying to keep busy but my thoughts always return to "why hasn't he called me?" "What's wrong?" I know I'm just being a crazy worry-wart, but I can't help it. Thanks so much for your willingness to help me, and asking your son about the current procedures at A-School. That means a lot to me. Do you think he could try to find Kevin? That probably sounds crazy, but if not, let me know. He was in Div 926, Ship 06, and graduated on May 16. Thanks again so much! Vicki

Hey there,
Got your message yesterday, but by the time I got the trailer emptied out with the stuff that had to come inside, made something for dinner and sat down for the evening, I went through my emails and then went to bed. So here I am replying today. (We have the day off from school, an unused snow day left! Yipeeeee!) We had a great time camping. We have a 32 fifth wheel trailer and we like to go camping. It is just my husband and I, and of course the dog, the cat stays home to watch the house! (The cat is always so depressed when the dog comes back!! ) We went to Lake George to a campground we haven't been to before. It was a great weekend, the weather was perfect. Sunday we went on a cruise of Lake George on one of the cruise boats and it was just perfect. The worst thing about the whole trip is coming home. My husband can't imagine why I dread the going and coming home parts of the trip, easy for him to say he hooks the trailer up, tows it, unhooks it and I have the joys of shopping for the trip, putting the clothes in and taking out the stuff that we didn't use. Just so much fun for me!! :0)
In August we will go to Watkins Glen for the NASCAR races and each year my husband says we should eat out less and in the trailer. Sure this is a great idea, again I do the shopping, the food prep and most of the clean up and he does the eating. Not much of a vacation for me! I say hurray for eating out!! We won't be doing as many trips with the trailer this summer as in the past because of the cost of gas. Hopefully we won't reach the $5.00 mark, I don't see us keeping the trailer if it keeps going up. My husband has a diesel truck and fuel will break us towing the trailer.
Hope you enjoyed your weekend with your son. When does Lewis graduate from Groton? Are you going to the graduation? Bob graduates on July 17th and we are planning on going to the graduation. Well, better get going and get some work done around the house. Have a great day and I'll "talk" to you soon.
