About me:
I have 1 child - my sailor Danny, It has been hard since he joined the Navy getting used to him not being close to home, but his recent return from deployment and my getting to go to Virginia to see him made me realize just how much the Navy has done for him. He is an AMAZING young man, if I do say so myself!
I am a Marketing Coordinator for a Construction Cost Management firm here in Houston, TX. The company has been in business for 3 years, but was basically "attached" to a parent company. We went out on our own as of January 31st of this year, and so my job right now is just like starting up a brand new company. I wear way too many hats these days, so if I am absent more often than not, please forgive me - I'm trying to get back onboard this support ship!
I am here to support or represent my:
Son/Daughter
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?

When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was concerned or afraid
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
As adult children, all we can do is support whatever decision they make, because it is based on what they feel is best for their lives and will give them the best chance for a great future. It's hard, but the best thing I can do is just pray for his safety.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

OK, give a mom a break - Danny's very first babysitter sang this to him to put him down for his nap starting when he was 8 weeks old - I love this song, and I love Maeve's version of it!!!

Hey Debbie,,,thank you so much for writing to me. I am still in the shock stage I think. It happened so fast. Kyle was home thank God or I would have lost my mind!! Kyle had a scheduled vacation,,came home late the 26th. Even though visiting hours in the ICU were over I was able to pull some strings and we (Kyle and I) were allowed into to see my hubby for a little while. We said our goodbyes for the night,,the kiss,,the hug,,the I love you and I will see you in the morning. As we were leaving hubby said something and Kyle waited at the door. Hubby called me close to him as if he was telling me a secret,,and looking at Kyle said to me "How much longer do I have to be here?" I knew it was his way of saying Kyle is here now and I have to go. I can't believe that he waited for Kyle and thought I would be ok with him here. Sorry for rambling,,but anyways hubby passed the next morning one minute before I got there. And The Navy was really good with us,,,they gave Kyle a week extension so he was here for just shy of two weeks. I cried like a baby when he had to go back. He really took over the man of the house role,,,screening phone calls and visitors for me,,,and just being by my side for the whole time. So when you say you saw the change in Danny I know exactly what you mean!!! Anyways,,I will email you one of these days. I just wanted to say thank you for reaching out to me ,,,again.

Hey lady, sorry haven't been on the site in awhile. No internet at home so have to go down to the public library for now and keep forgetting to check on my mom site :( Glad to hear Danny is coming home soon, enjoy him. I sure enjoyed what time I had with Chris when he was home. Seemed he spent most of his time with friends and of course his girlfriend. I told Debbie H but not sure I told you... Chris got himself semi-engaged while he was home, her name is Lisa and she is a cutie, will post their picture as soon as I get internet back. He plans on formally asking her when he comes home for the holidays and by that time the ring should be paid for. She knows, her mom figured it out, but her dad is still clueless. Weather here has finally dried out and turning hot although not as hot as you are getting. Marc is doing road construction took the 5th wheel to live in (too far to commute) otherwise all is well here. Take care and enjoy Danny, Hi to everyone
Love ya!!!

Oh yes... those two are something else. If you look through the pics on my page, you'll see one of the two of them when Holly arrived in Hawaii on the way home from her first combat deployment to the 5th Fleet. She told HIM first, when she got her first tat (yes, there are more) in Pensacola during A-School. She told him not to tell me cause she didn't want me to be upset... here I thought she was going to Iraq... but he told me that she had told him something but that "he wasn't supposed to tell me". I was RELIEVED to find out it was ONLY a tatoo!
