There are so many kids trying to join the Navy right now that jobs are filled up. They are being very picky about who they take too. I would suggest your son wait until the job he wants opens up, as Hoppi says, if he takes whatever's offered he'd ...

If he joins the USN and picks a job, he will have that job for at least 2 years (unless he fails out of "A" School). He will not be able to change it in boot camp or "A" School.

my son has A.D.D. will he survive boot camp?

I know many kids have been diagnosed with A.D.D. my son age 18 is one of them. He has a hard time focusing, I worry about him in boot camp. Anyone have kids that have gone and done well? how hard was it for them. I am hopeful he will be strong enough emotionally to maintain his will and drive, and keep his head together. Welcome aboard!!

We are so glad that you are here! This is a great place to meet others that know exactly how you feel!
We have something for everyone here groups from boot camp moms to overseas moms and moms that like to scrap book. We have meet and greets to events that the moms set up to meet each other and have dinner or an outing. There are groups to help you with each and every step of this wonderful adventure that our children have chosen called the US Navy.

Please tell us about your sailor and what they have chosen to do in the navy and ohh yeah we LOVE pictures of everyone !!
