Dawn, it was so great to hear from you. I really have missed chatting with our division moms although it was just a few of us. Jason asked had I heard anything about Alex. He wanted to know if I knew where Alex was stationed. I assured him that I would try to contact you and check on Alex. Anyway, Jason is doing great. He is stationed in Norfolk, VA and he enjoys it especially because he is only three hours from home. I think his ship is preparing for deployment sometime later this year.

Hi dawn,
WOW what a job. You must b very proud of him. It gets at times hard to hide the fears we have. They c it no matter what. Just like we can read our sons like a book they do the same to us. lol Alex seems like he has career planned out...that is wonderful. His training is extensive and I am sure he will be just fine. I will keep him and yourself in my prayers. where is alex now? obviously he must be out of BC already, right?

Dawn thanks for the response. Glad to hear that Alex is doing fine. We were heading to SC this weekend but a little change(Hanna) in our plans. Yes, Jason is in Pensacola and should be coming home the end of the month. I can't wait! I will be at the airport awaiting his arrival. He has enjoyed his stay in Pensacola and look forward to going to VA next which is 3 hours from us.

Hi Dawn, after BC Joe goes to mississippi for A school. Construction/builder is his job. He wants to go to school for construction engineering eventually. I am so proud of him for making this decision but i still have my reservations about the whole thing. I would never tell him that of course. I am just scared he is my only child. hope to hear from you soon. janet

Dawn,
My prayers go out to you and your family. It's good to hear from others in the same situation. My son Mark called me this morning to say that everything was fine and that he would try to keep me posted. Told me that it's nothing he's ever seen in NY though. I'm wondering if they are stuck on the base, how do they go for food? I know the military takes care of them, but if they loose power like N.O. how will they cook for all the sailors? Years back when my husband was in the military, there were these things called MRE's. Are there such things with the Navy? As I see this storm, it is just another test in our lives to see just how much we can take.

Dawn,
Thank you for the words of wisdom. They really help. This is a whole new experience with him and I'm really not liking the fact that I can no longer make him check in with me. lol I pray that all the civilians and our military men and women will be safe during these two storms. It's been a long 8 months and seems like eternity since I've seen my son. I'm the type of mom that everyone has to check in with me by 11pm and let me know they are safe before I can sleep. The group down in Pensicola seem to be a unit and I'm glad my son has that right now. Thank you again for the advice and hope to hear from you again. I didn't even go to camp this weekend because I can't be away from the computer or TV with the storm. Oh well Watkins will be there anytime.

Hi Dawn,
I too have not been on this site because some situation I had. I took my pics off too. Just being safe. Also my son does not write too many details and I don't have much to share. I am sure he is is more regular communication with his girl. I do read to keep informed but know more about GL that GS. Anyway, my son TG likes GS, So Car. but also writes that he is so busy with academics. He is gotten out to Charlestone and liked the southern food. I have sent a box with some things he asked for and plan to send him once a month. They can't accumulate because there is no space. I asked if he know when he could come home but he did not feel he could yet ask his superior. I really miss him but know that he is focused on achieving his goals. I also know he has made friends as he told me about sharing food I sent with some of them. Take care and stay in touch.

Oh my gosh thank you sooooo much for commenting me today. I was actually in Mechanicville today cleaning out my Mom's house. You should stop by and see me!!!

I had no idea about Pensacola. Joe tells me very little but what he does always tell me is "don't worry". I'm am trying to get him by phone as I type this and he isn't answering me.

Now as for jazzing up your page, it's easy (I can say that now that I have have other Moms walk me through everything). To add graphics to comments, all you have to do it go to a my space comments site, find a graphic you would like to add, copy the code and paste it into a comment box and then click "add comment" the graphic won't appear until you click add comment.

To add graphics to your page you basically do the same thing, however on your page there is an area for you to add graphics and stuff, not the widget area but just above that. When you are done copying and pasting you just click save. Let me know if you need more/better help.
