Profile Information

About me:
Hi, my name is Deanna and I live in Nebraska. My son is in the Navy stationed in Point Loma San Diego. I grew up in Oregon married a Navy man. My father and three brothers were also Navy men. I also have a daughter that is a high school teacher and lives in Washington state. I'm a teacher's assistant and work in the 4th and 3rd grade resource room. Both kids are out of the house so it has been hard to getting use to the empty nest. My husband works at a local power plant. We have two cats. In our spare time we like to travel and since both kids live in different states we will be traveling to see them.
I am here to support or represent my:
Tom
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud, Encouraged him/her
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
To be very supportive at all times and let your recruit know their mother is there for them no matter what.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger, This was a maturing experience, The Navy has a lot to offer, This was the best decision he/she could have made

Hi Deanna, I am a member of the Nebraska group too. I love your pictures of your sailor's PIR. WOW! I wish my pictures would have been that good. Your sailor is in SD too. I wonder if our sailors are close to each other? My son will start C school next month and has only been in SD for a few weeks. He loves it there so far. Much better than GL. THat would be pretty cool if our boys can meet up. Have a great weekend!

I sent you a friend request.so we can private message. My son has been helping in the A school Mando, that I bet your son is in. If you PM your son's last name I can see if he knows him. Or I can PM you my son's last name and you can ask your son, either way. It makes it tough since they all know each other by their last names.

Hey Deanna, you should join the surface sonar group...

it's a great group. My son only signed up for 5 years, so he went straight to San Diego. Congrats on your son passing his first test. It's not easy. It's good your son received other training first...it took my son at least a week to get into the hang of A school.

Hi Deanna, I'm a member of the Nebraska Families group too. My son just graduated from Surface Sonar Tech A school in San Diego. He starts ops on Monday. Your son will love San Diego!!! I think that it's too cool that both our sons are at the same base, learning the same job!!

Dear Deanna,
Those Good byes never get easier! Us moms have to get adjusted to the Military life as well. You know who I feel bad for, the moms that have married Sailor children, and the spouce is in another state.

That woild be great if you see anything under the "events" in your state.
If not, you could always place your own, Write about a get together of Nebraska moms, and have them reply back, so you have a head count. Think of a restaurant for lunch, and see what happens. That's what the New York and surrounding states of New York moms do.

I have even been in two parades with the Navy for moms. It's great meeting the moms.

Let me get going. Tonight is an all night for me, replying to my messages.
Take care and God bless.
