Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was concerned or afraid
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
How important this is to him and how much I need to support him and not put my worries in front of him.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Thanks Debbie for the encouraging words. I'm feeling better about this than last week when I first heard about his orders. I have done some research on the internet and talked with some other people. I guess Middle East strikes fear in any mother's heart! Is your son enjoying being an MA? Mine grads on 11/20 and we will have him home for 2 weeks over Thanksgiving. I can't wait!

Hi Debbie, My son has been in the Navy since Valentine's Day 2008, that's the day he shipped out. He signed papers the week before and 6 days later was gone. That was rough for me, wasn't expecting him to go so soon. At first he hated the Navy, then he loved it, now he says he is going to do his four years and go Coast Guard. But knowing my son, things will change again. He's just like a woman always changing his mind. But he has really grown up alot being in the Navy. I'm very proud of him that he has given his all to serve the country and has stuck it out.

Hi Debbie, Have you heard from Michael and has he safely arrived on Whidbey Island? I'm so anxious to tell Greg some things about it before he leaves on Saturday. Fill me in and tell me how he's doing.

Road Trip for Michael! I am so glad you had a wonderful time with him. We got Greg home on Friday after graduation and he will be here until the 25th when he has to report by midnight. We are have a wonderful time, I just want it to crawl by but it's not. I can't wait to take a road trip to bring Greg his truck the first part of Sept. so i can see all the beautiful sights. I'm so glad Michael will be there to show Greg around, I hope they become good friends. Greg thinks he will be doing gate security first and then not sure from there. Please keep in touch and let me know when Michael arrives. God Bless.

That is going to be a really nice road trip for Michael. Greg should be home for two weeks and I'm not sure what he will be doing when he gets to WA. Does Michael know what he will be doing. I just thought they would be learning more and doing their MA thing? I don't know much what happens after SA, what did Michael tell you? Any info would be appreciated, you know us moms, the more we know the better.
