Sharon: There should be a phone number on the summons that you can call and inform them of your daughter's situation. They may request something in writing from her recruiter, so you might also want to call the recruiter as well.

AMEN! What a beautiful, heartfelt prayer, Karen. Thank you. I'd like to add to the prayer...Lord God, I pray that you will watch over our Sailors and their families as they travel back and forth to their next station or home for the long weekend....

Hey Debi (love the name!!!). How does your son like P'Cola?? It is beautiful here in Florida (that's where I live). What is his rate?? Has he started A-school yet?? Sorry for all the questions, just interested. My son Jason is 22 & has two more weeks of A-school left & then will go to C-school. We're not sure where his C-school is or how long. Then he will be stationed in Norfolk, VA. He is an AME. I have 3 other sons, Steven 19 in college, Brian 17 a senior in HS & Aaron 14 a sophomore. I work at our local high school & coach cheerleading there. Tell me about your sailor & yourself.
Please come visit the P'Cola site again. We are very chatty, but you can always get your questions answered quickly & find out a lot of info. I think we chat so much to help each other get through the loneliness & the worries!! So we talk about food a lot & what ever's on our minds. I know they help me through a lot of hard times (like now!).
Write me back!! Take care!

Debi....please dont feel like an outsider. We LOVE new Moms, but we do tend to be quite silly. Just jump right in. Right now we are having fun picking on Serena. JD or Joseph is her only son and she hasent seen him since Sept. She wasnt even able to go to his PIR. So needless to say she has really missed her son. And he is coming home for his 1st visit this Thursday. Then he is off to his duty station in Hawaii. So we have been teasing about his name and when he is arriving and where he is going. So now you are up to par. Come back and tease Serena with us!

Profile Information

About me:
I hate to talk about me!!! I've been married - for the second time - 10 years.I have three great kids: Kelly, 22 (working on her Nursing Degree); John-Matthew, 19 (my Sailor); and Stevie Ray, 17 (he's a Jr. in high school, looking at colleges). We also have two dogs: Trixie, a mutt (she's really JM's dog) and Samantha, my pug . I'll be 50 this year, and I'm soooo excited! I've been an RN for 26years (WOW..that seems impossible!). My "specialty" is high-risk pregnancies and NICU babies. I'm currently working at a Managed Care Medicaid insurance company as a Case Manager, and I'm working on my Master's in Healthcare Administration...My husband Rick is a Journeyman Electrician and was in the Navy in the early 80s. My dad also did a short stint in the Navy, and my brother-in-law is a retired Warrant Officer - so we have Navy in our blood!!
I am here to support or represent my:
Son/Daughter
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
This is the best carreer choice he could have made, and I'm so proud of him. He became a wild child during his Senior year in high school and was hanging around with a bunch of guys that liked to look for trouble. When John-Matthew graduated, he didn't know what he wanted to do, and he was in no hurry to make a decision! When he called me and told me he had just enlisted in the Navy, I was so proud of him and knew he was going to be alright. He made the decision to join on his own, and we couldn't be prouder...GO NAVY!
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.
