About me:
My daughter just PIR on Sept 26...she is headed for Pensacola for A school, graduation was amazing and I was SO PROUD........
(My youngest and only daughter is at Boot Camp...its rough...but I know she will be okay! But I need all the support I can get. She called me when her plane landed about 730 pm Tues....she was crying and scared. I told her she can do anything. She said she was alone too...(not literally) I said no your not....Your Mommy is always in your heart!!!! Never thought it would be this hard. I miss her so much. Last call was around 11pm...she said Mommy I am here...I am ok...I love you...talk to you in about 3 wks (UGH) Alyssa is now in Division 361 Ship 5..USS Theodore Roosevelt
I got a phone call on 8-12-08 and was shocked to hear her voice!!! I have a 21 yr old son and a 15 month old Granddaughter!!!)
I am here to support or represent my:
Alyssa
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was concerned or afraid, Needed to learn more about it, Encouraged him/her
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
That she will be safe....and to learn how to let go a bit, to the precious gift God gave me. Alyssa and her older brother are the two best gifts I could have ever gotten. I am proud of each of them everyday!
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger, The Navy has a lot to offer

Where do you live in Philly? I'm right outside the city limits in Cheltenham near Burholme and Fox Chase. Loved your post above about your daughter missing Wawa! My son couldn't wait to have his Wawa fix when he was home on leave! Wawa's awesome!

Battle Stations is a simulatated test that take place on a Ship. It simulates disasters that have taken place on real Ships. The recruits start this test at 8 pm and it last about 12 hours. They work at a team to "survive" , its the last test before they are truly Saliors and are able to graduate. Tjhere is a forum and some video of Battle Stations. I will try to find it for you.

Dear Diane,
Your doing better than us!! HAHA!! You thought of the pen, I never gave that a thought. A mom mentioned it to me, before we left!! HAHA!!
Your so lucky that Alyssa paid for her pictures already. We got stuck with that. We have no family at all. Kim did buy the smallest package she could. The pictures went for $ 140 and are collecting dust on the side of my bed.
I took out the large picture of Kim, and displayed it in the living room. We have the wallets, only three, that's all we need.
Everything else is collecting dust.
If I don't hear from you prior to graduation, have a safe trip!!
You take care and God bless.

Dear Diane,
Your down for the count now!!HAHA!! Congratulations on Alyssa's pending graduation!!!

Since your so close, I'll write down my handy little tidbit information on graduation!! HAHA!!

You do need a car, everything is far apart.
graduation:
1) bring photo ID, camera, and tissues
2) Get there early, the security line is long. If your driving
in, the car line is also long and the cars get inspected
as well, with the hood and trunk opened.
3) Bring a white towel for Alyssa to sit on, in case she's
still in the all white uniform. You could also buy a stain
remover pen as well.
4) Bring a blank check, Alyssa will be picking up her
Navy pictures after graduation.
5) If Alyssa has time to spend in the hotel, bring some
civilain clothes for her to be relaxed in the room.
I am so happy for both of you Congratulations!!
Please keep in touch.
Take care and God bless.
Barbara
