She actually reeled this fish in herself and would not let me help until I gaffed it for her. I was afraid the protruding veins in her neck were going to rupture.

Pensacola Trip

Wow, what a time we had. My oldest daughter Jess, her 6-year-old twins and I drove Kim's car down to her in Pensacola. We stayed on NAS and it was really nice. The first morning we were there the Blue Angels flew over (not too much over!) the Inn just as the kids were playing in the sand. They were in awe and 1 of them has decided she is going to be a Blue Angels pilot when she grows up! Everything from that moment on was Blue Angels. Oh yeah, she has the T-shirt! We walked all over, went to the… Continue

PIR WOW

I can't help the tears from flowing every time I think of this past week-end when I went to Kim's PIR. I am so proud and so much in awe of our Navy. Boot Camp has changed her. I can't really put my finger on how exactly but WOW! She told me that when she puts on her uniform there is an unexplainable sense of pride and responsibilty. She carries herself with assurance now so much more so than before. She said to me " I have learned a lot about honor and commitment this past 8 weeks..." The Navy i… Continue

Finally a real letter!

I had a great day yesterday! I got a letter from Kim and then a phone call! I felt like it was my birthday. She seems to be doing OK but I guess she got "caught" looking at family photos when she was not supposed to be so they took them away and she had what she called " intensive training" Oh boy...
I got my tickets, room, car for PIR so I told her she cannot get washed back! LOL
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and is having a relaxing weekend!

Toys For Tots

From now until 12/20/08 Divella Delights will donate 10% of every sale
to Toys for Tots at http://www.toysfortots.org/
That means that for every gift you purchase here you will be getting 2 gifts and one will go to a child who has very little! What a great feeling it will be on Christmas day as we open our gifts to know that somewhere there is a child opening a gift who may not otherwise have one.
I have posted a lot lately about my fiber goods and have not talked about all the wonderful handmad… Continue

Congrats to Mikki tomorrow!!! Enjoy her while she's home, I know you will! lol Laurens still on hold waiting to start her ATT school. I think I told you she finished Aircrew school. Still so much training to do. blech. lol BUT, the delays mean she'll probably still be in P-cola during Christmas time, which means she should get to come home for a couple of weeks. yay! I'm going back up to p-cola for her 21st birthday July 24th. Cant wait to see her!

Keep me updated on where Mikki goes!!! Tell her I said Hi and I love her tattoo!!

All is right in the western world.......my sailor is home on leave right now!! Woo hoo!! We've had a blast so far, nonstop party and seeing people. She leaves to go back to p-cola sunday morning. Thats gonna be sad. lol She classed up and was to start Aircrew the day before she left on leave, so they pushed her back and she'll start when she gets back up there. Finally!

Hows nikki?? The weather is getting really nice up in p-cola right about this time of year. The beaches will be packed every weekend. I'm planning a trip up there over 4th of july I think since I have the friday before the 4th off.

yeah, leave is thrilling! its changed to April 3 - 12th. Even better! When she's done she should class up and start Aircrew school.

And we were up there the same weekend as you, but we left on that sunday you arrived. the lodge is very nice. Lauren texted me this morning that the blue angels were flying formations over their PT and when they were running on the beach. They really have inspired her again. lol We think she's gonna get AT "A" school after aircrew school, so that leaves the door open....4 years from now she can put in paperwork to possibly do some time with the Angels crew. That is her dream. =)

I'm glad you had such a nice visit. You need some sunshine in the middle of winter! lol The base is really nice dont you think?? Almost like a college campus....or at least thats how a lot of the college campuses look down here.

keep me informed!! and we will meet someday. im sure.
