About me:
My name is Donna or Aunt Donna to my sailor. His mom was my baby sister and she was killed in a tragic auto accident one month before he turned 16. I have another sister, Aunt Mary, who introduced me to this site. Neither of us have children of our own so our sailor is very special to us. He is all we have left of our sister. She would be so proud of him, as we all are.
I am here to support or represent my:

Heather and Sarah are the ours. Kathy is Joe's from his first marriage. And my first born was given up at birth (back then we had little choice, I did what was right for her), but we have been blessedly reunited and she is also Sarah. Gets confusing sometimes.

Kathy has blessed us with two wonderful grandkids, Patrick and Tori who are 11 and 10. She also has two other half-siblings from her mom and stepdad. She took them in after losing both her mom and stepdad Bob to cancer five years earlier. Her sister Meghan was a senior in high school and Rob was a sophomore when Peggy passed away. And now Kathy's divorced and raising the kids on her own.

Heather is our 'baby' and will be 20 in April.

Love the pictures, he's quite a handsome sailor! Thanks for the great note. I'll send you one later, I'm off to the doctor this afternoon and then I have to take my daughter to her's as well. In two different towns of course. It's going to be a long day!

Hugs,
Trish

Hi Donna,

Thanks for the add request and welcome aboard.

I'm not a Navy mom either, but that doesn't matter here as we are all sisters in N4M's. The support here is fabulous.

I a future mother in law to our sailor. He means as much to me as any child of mine and I support him fully in his choice to go Navy. He and Heather are soul mates.

Hugs,
Trish

As for the frame, I got it at Target last fall but they were sold out just two days later when I went back to get another. I've been to three different stores and never found another one like it. I do love it, it days it all on the inscription. I can't wait until he gets to see it in person.

Hugs,
Trish

Welcome to Navy 4 Moms, this is an exciting website and very informative... We would like to invite you to the Blue Candle Lighting event that occurs in your home anytime you wish to light a candle for your recruit sailor or the military in general. This is done to honor their service during the holidays, birthdays, special events or if you just want to. The Home for the Holidays/Blue Candle Moms also ask you join us in this group. This event and group has no special connections to "any one group" We are all Navy Moms, Wives, and we became Blue Candle Moms.... this included everyone on this website. Please come join us and share your stories and your lightings and your holidays with your child...this was done because some moms were not having their sailors home, and we are support group that can share feelings and fears. Annouce your child is coming home or the despair of knowing on certain holidays it is your sailor we light the candles for. To honor them for the service in the past present and future. To honor those that gave the Ultimate Sacrifice for our freedom. We celebrate the freedom to be Blue Candle Moms and the freedom to light our candles anytime we choose. Please think about our group and the Event and when responding tell where you lit your candle, and the reasons for your paticular lighting. the event will continue and once you rsvp come in anytime and update your lightings
