Hi Donna! Yes, my son is on the Boxer. This is his first West Pac deployment, and so far it isn't that great! They have been out to sea for 60 days straight right now with no port calls. And,...they have been in communication lock down for a week today. No outgoing calls or emails. :( I haven't talked to my son on the phone in 2 1/2 months now.

So happy you heard from your son!!! I know how that just make's your heart swell. Glad to hear all is good with him. Is this his first West Pac also? How long has he been in?

Hello Donna! So nice to hear from ya! I have been praying for that "situation" and now that it is hitting a little closer since I know more personally of those that are there, I shall fervently have prayers going out. All these worldly dramatic situations keep me uneasy, but I know the Good Father who can help ease any difficulties! I have all of you in prayer anyway, as I know you are going through so much with your twins. I am there for ya, ANYTIME. Been there. However, unlike you, mine are all I have, I have not done this with more than just those two. So, you are like a solid rock for me. I look up to you. When I think it is getting hard for me, I think of those, like you, who have so much more than I, and I feel almost ashamed that I am being so selfish! Thanks for your shoulder! How so very kind of you! My ear, my shoulder is also here for you if needed! We just had snow this past weekend, missed all the really bad storms that you had. Our tornado season typically starts about now, but we had several come through our area a few days after Christmas. Very rare for us. Since then, we have had a few more touch down nearby, fortunately no one hurt. I look forward to that one day, no more sickness or sadness....will check in on you later, take care dear friend...:0}

So far so good. My Marine son's recruiting office is having a family day BBQ on the 11th but we will be headed out of town on the way to see our sailor. I'm so excited to see him but so disappointed we will miss the family day BBQ. I really would have loved to go. He's been going to some poolee functions and getting ready. His buddy, who he recruited just graduated this past Friday and came home. He stopped in to see us. I was so impressed. He was such a goofy kid but there was nothing goofy about him now. He said it was hard but did not regret a thing. He told us that he asked his Div. Commander about our son's graduation date and he believes it will be Nov. 20th, not Nov. 13th.

I have been trying to find some Marine Corps support locally but not coming across much. Have you tried to find anything? Have you come across something?

Your fellas are going in much quicker than mine. He graduated at the end of June but we have all of July and half of August with him. We think he will graduate about Nov. 13th ish.

I am so not looking forward to ship out day.

Keep me posted.

When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
That you can be the most important key to their success. Parents should be proud to have their children in the military and be behind them 100%. That is the culmination of all your years of hard work. That they are independent, well-disciplined, successful adults. What more could a parent want for their child?
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Enjoying Our Sailor!!!

I know everyone is enjoying having their sailor home! I know I am! He will be leaving around the first of the month but only to go back to Norfolk. At least we can call and chat now and then. He is enjoying connecting with friends and lots of fishing and kayaking in the creeks around here. Have fun and a special welcome home to the USS Bainbridge!

They are on their way!!!

Hello everyone! So sorry it has been so long since I have posted. Trying to stay in contact with one in Boot Camp plus one on deployment is rough! Anyway, this is what I know. They are to start home in a week or two and will be arriving in late September! Cannot wait! Not sure how secure this info is supposed to be but if you will email me I can privately give you more information. Counting them down!!!

THANKS FOR ALL THE COMMENTS!

Just checked this today and saw all the messages. We have been in Florida this week on our last vacation with the twins. We really appreciate all the prayers and we have all seen what prayer can do. I am so proud of our boys out there, not just in that area but across the globe. We owe them alot as I am sure all of you are aware. I will be back home on Monday and will be answereing all that wrote, just wanted to touch base till then. Hope you have a great weekend.
