Kayla was sworn in yesterday after a long delay. Fort Hamilton in Brooklyn shipped off 88 recruites to various bootcamps yesterday. I didn't cry till I left base. I know she was scared but she is a strong and determined young lady. I know she will do well. My father, a navy man himself, came with me and he teared up as he watched his granddaughter swear in. We both beamed with pride.

One week ago today my daughter was sworn in at MEPS in Tampa. What a long day that was. I drove up and met her around noon time. She was exhausted. We sat for 3 and a half hours before she was called in for job counceling. I was not impressed. I thought the councelors were supposed to help.
