Hi Donna,
It's been a very long time and I have not heard from you. I'm sure AnnMarie is doing great but I just wanted to touch base with you.
Take care, Frieda

Hi Donna, I am so glad Annmarie is doing better and the headaches are gone. Sinus headaches are painful, poor baby. I am glad she is starting school in the spring. Levi has been back 1 month now and has trouble sleeping but we are making it through, he will start school in the spring also, he wants to go into law enforcement and slowly looking for a job. If it were up to me I would rather he just get his degree and move forward, but we will see what happens. Thank you so much for updating me and tell Annmarie another mom says hello and thinks of her too.

I talked to B for about 45 minutes today. She said Annmarie is doing good. B went to legal Mon so she's hoping for travel orders soon. She says the girls side of ship 17 isn't as bad as the boys and they have a little more to do. She is passing meds now 4 times a day and that helps kill time. She sounded good and still up and looking forward to coming home and starting a new path.

Hi Donna, any news when Annmarie may be coming home? I hope it's soon, so you can give her your wonderful and loving medicine. Levi was really fortunate, he is not sick at all. I wondered if he would come home ill from everything I have read on Ship 17 but about being sick, but he's good. Please let me know when your pretty girl comes home so I can rejoice in her homecoming, Frieda

We got to talk to Bridgette for about 30 minutes today, then she called the boyfriend and talked to him. But she sounded really good. She has seen Annmarie and she's doing good. They want to keep in touch after this is all over. B said she's supposed to go to legal by Wednesday. They were waiting for some fax to come in. She told me they would send her home on a bus or train and it would be about a 25 hour trip or she could pay for the upgrade and fly. I told her to definently up grade.

I talked to B for just a minute Friday. They let everyone from Texas call home because of the hurricane. We aren't in it but my son, sisters and mother are all in the path. She should get to call Sat. She said they were allowed to call Wed and Sat so we're waiting by the phone toay. I think she said it would be after lunch. But she hasn't gone to legal yet.

Donna I'm so glad to hear that the MRI results were good for Annmarie...good news also about the re-enlistment option...my son also is able to re-enlist after 6 months if he choses...he has said that if he does re-enlist it will be in a different branch...but only time will tell...

I, too, wonder about at least re-enlistment. Please know this dream is in my prayers for Annmarie.

About me:
The Navy is not new to me, but being a Navy Mom is. My husband, Scott, was stationed on submarines for 8 years and we loved the life style. Our daugther was 2 when he got out, we are so proud and excited for her.
Our younger daughter is 12 and entering middle school. She is a cheer leader and plays the drums. We are just amazed at what wonderful people both our girls are becoming.

Just found out Annmarie is in Ship 6, Div 948! Off goes the mail!

GREAT News!

The MRI results are in and she is fine. Thank you God! Scott & I took a collective breath! She is still being discharged for the headaches (which just kills me). She is still on ship 6 "sick bay" becuase she had to be put on antibiotics again for broncitis and a sinus infection they say she could have had for years. ?? I'm now wondering if this could aid in the headaches?

Anyway, she called after the MRI and then after the appt with the neurologist and she sounded great. I'm sure the stress… Continue

We got 6 letters today!

Her letters are great! She says she is bored. She’s in with the people who are having trouble passing PFT. Some of her letters are sad or depressed, but even those are kind of funny – her sense of humor is still there.

She is very scared about the medical situation and mad because she know’s she could have done boot camp with no problem. She’s says it was actually easier than she thought. Said she will never fold her clothes, write, make her bed, etc any other way. She says she has grown up, ta… Continue

Thank you everyone for your support! Update.

First thanks to everyone one of you! For the dozens of birthday wishes, and for the prayers and concerns for Annmarie and my family. Scott called a few of the numbers this morning that I was able to get from the Ship 17 group. Annmarie called back a couple of hours later and the first thing she said was: "I heard Dad's been making some calls!" She said she still has a slight headache but they gave her 600 mg of ibeprofen (sp?). She is currenlty in a division where people who do not pass their me… Continue

Very Sad Day

This was the most unexpected phone call I have ever received. Annmarie said she passed out and they took her to the hospital. Turns out she had a migrane and they are discharging her. We are all so upset. She has known she wanted to do this since she was in the 8th grade. Made her final decision the summer before Junior year and had us sign permission the week after she turned 17. She waited a full year on DEP before she left for Bootcamp and this happened the first week. It's now looking like t… Continue

The waiting game!

Wow, I think I forgot what the waiting game was like. After years of waiting for the mailman and trying to figure out ways to get the mail there faster when my husband was in the Navy I'm back to it again. Annmarie's recruiter just called late yesterday with her address and I've mailed off two letters (one from her sister). I haven't received her box or letter yet, but she's only been gone a week so I dont expect it..... just WANT it!

Scott laughed at me yesterday. I told him about how I was re… Continue
