- About me:
- Mom of a wonderful 23 yr. old son E-3 heading to be a SEAL, and a great daughter 25, now teaching and living in NJ, but we live now in Florida. Our son made the big decision to become a Navy Seal to serve his country and put his college training to good use as he has a degree to be a team trainer in exercise science. An athelete all his life, he is looking forward to the challenge of becoming a SEAL - I am worried about the dangers he will face after that. Married 31 years, we miss both kids, now we are sort of retired and so I have some time to be worried and to read comments here from other Navy Moms. I had hoped the recruiter would have dealt with us as parents but because Jon was older, we knew nothing, so I am glad to learn from all of you. Every time I would ask Jon about when he would be leaving from DEP for Boot Camp, he would answer me "Mom, that is classified, if I tell you I will have to kill you", so we have been in the dark on the details, a boy thing too. Thanks for the opportunity to share and learn.

MISSED PIR 8/21/09
We were so sad to have to miss attending PIR but other family members had booked visits to us long before we knew the date of PIR. Now we are looking forward to the next graduation from BUDS. Our son graduated college in Dec. and we made the trip from Florida to Pennsylvania for that, in the cold, so he was fine with us not being there this time. First thing we have ever missed.
