Thank you cotysmom and kathy. I appreciate your kind words. I spoke to my son after I wrote. Everything's going to be alright. I just have these spurts of sort of desperation because I miss them so much. I think of him being so far away though and...

I will pray for you with all the other moms as well. It is so hard letting go when God gave them to us but it always seems that we dont get to keep them long. God bless you and keep you and your son and the others safe along with me and mine.

Or I can look for a bag for the men. I just hate that we can't send these.

If the guys don't mind having a pink and black bag they would be ideal. You see each bag consists of 5 seperate bags each with a zipper made of clear see through plastic. They have a velcro backing so you can pull them off the bag seperately or yo...

Good Morning,

Hope you have a wonderful day with your brother & SIL and all the family & friends. It's what makes life exciting! Fifty years is wonderful.

My parents have been m. for 55 years this Aug. 21. My baby was born the 22! He's not 55 tho'. lol We had a 50th anniversary party here for them. It was great fun. Well, a least 'til the wind came up and blew dirt all over the 4 tiered cake! Good thing we had a couple of back ups from Costco!

Yeah, I know we can send the bags anytime we want. I think I might talk to our postmaster and see if we can get some kind of postage discount.

May His Spirit be with you as you teach His other children. God bless you.

Your Sister,
Charla

Dear Eleanor,

You are a strong person because God is your strength. People think I'm strong too, for the same reason.

Actually, I don't really think geographical location determines what makes a family strong. I think, just my opinion, it is who is head of the family. I always try to keep God as the head of our family. When I start to put my own wants ahead of His will, He gives me a loving reminder and turns me back around. I wonder if He is dizzy yet. I think that I'm such a problem child! You love the Lord and your children. I think it's great that you are able to get together for Christmas. Richard was in "A" School for the new rate he's going into this past Christmas. It was the 1st Christmas that we were not able to be together, but his wife and children were with us and that was wonderful. He felt so lonely though. I too appreciate technology that we are able to keep in touch with our loved ones and to meet others who are dealing with the same circumstances. I don't even think that the circumstances are necessarily bad, just not always the way we'd like them to be.

You have had a very interesting and difficult life and it looks like you've done well for yourself and your children. Thank you for sharing. Sometimes that's not easy to do.

I too was a single parent for quite awhile. Then I married a man and it lasted for 5 months. He left shortly after we discovered I have some serious health problems...so much for "for better or for worse"! I didn't know it at the time, but it was the best thing he could do for us. I never planned to get married again, but the Lord knew I needed Mark. We'll celebrate our 10th anniversary in Nov. We met online on a church website. He's from England, but became an US citizen in 2006, just after Rich joined the Navy.

I think it's great that you're going to be a minister. My grandma on Mom's side was an ordained minister and according to Mom had quite a following. That was unusual for that time. I have her ordination certificate in my family history folder.

The ombudsman from the Nimitz e-mailed me and is going to check to see what the regs. are regarding our goal for the Nimitz ladies. This is exciting. I hope that it happens quickly as I believe the ship is going on deployment soon.

Thank you so much for your prayers. That is the best gift we can give to one another. You and your loved ones will be in our prayer too. I am grateful for this site and all the friends I've made.
God Bless YOU!
your friend,
Charla

Dear Eleanor,

Richard is my baby and is my only son in the Navy. He is PS 3 at this time, but is change rate. Richard just found out today that his orders may change again. He may not go to the Nimitz after all. He may be stationed in DC or Maryland and only go out on different ships as they are deployed. I guess it's a change that the Navy is making for all going in his rate. This will only be the 3rd change in less than a year! At first they were going to put him on the Abe Lincoln. Well, we'll just have to wait and see. We used to call Richard Ricky until he decided, in about the 5th grade that he wanted to be called Richard. Now he gets tagged with Rich quite a bit.

I have a widowed daughter who is raising her 4 children as a single parent now. The kids are giving her a hard time and are very angry. I'm trying to encourage her to get them into bereavement counseling. I also have 4 sons and 3 daughter-in-laws that I love as my own. I also have an "adopted" son (not legally) who lived with us from the time he was 10 until he was 17. We are a pretty close knit family and it's so hard to be away from them. I really struggle with empty nest syndrome!
I have 5 granddaughters, and 5 grandsons and one granddaughter due in July that are blood related then 5 "adopted grandchildren, 2 girls and 3 boys. There are a few pix of the grandkids on my Navy4Moms page, as well as the dils & kids. The one picture of an older girl standing behind a little on are my daughter's youngest and Richard's oldest. He has her and a set of boy/girl twins. I'll get some more pix of the kids later.

I just e-mailed the Nimitz Ombudsman in hopes of getting a head count of the women on board. Whether Rich goes to the Nimitz or not, I'd still like to help with the MK bags. I'm sure that they'll love 'em.

I hope to hear more about you and your family. Please tell Ramon & Josiah thank you for our family. We appreciate their service and protection.

God Bless You!

Hi Ellie,
We got home from a horse training weekend in Klamath Falls, OR on Monday. I'm still trying to play catch up! What have you heard from Ramon? Hope all is well.

My baby called me last night. It was so good to hear from him, but I was at the MK meeting so couldn't talk. I told him to go to bed. *LOL* It was 10:30 ET and he had PT this morning.

I've have a few people who are interested in helping get some roll-up bags for our lady sailors. Do you know how many have been sent out, how many people have pledged some, and how many women we are talking about? I really don't want to leave anyone out.
Well thanks and talk to you soon.
Your Friend,
Charla

Hi All

Just want to write what's on my heart at this very moment:
I'm thinking of my beautiful boy (actually he is a man) but I will always think of him as my little boy. How far away he is and how much further he will be before long.
