I am here to support or represent my:
Joseph Adam
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Officer
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
The Navy is family focus, they do not take our children choice to join the Navy lightly. My son was able to pick the kind of job he wanted to do in the Navy.

Navy takes care of the sailors' families from time of enlistment and as long the sailors are connected with them in some way. The Navy has been good to me even after Adam's death. And they tell me they will always be there for me as long as I live. If I need something I have contact information for the EOD Famiy Readiness & Support Ponsonnel.

And I am so happy some one got the inspiration for this website NavyFor Moms.com. I just wished it had been up and running while Adam was alive. However, it has given me such great support ever since I joined and I tell everyone about it.

Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
The Navy has a lot to offer
Here are a couple of poems sent to me after Adam's death .
To All Parents
"I'll lend you for a little time a child of Mine,"He said.
"For you to love him While he lives and mourn for when he's dead.
It may be six or seven years, or 22 or three,
But will you, till I call him back, take care of him for me?
He'll bring his charms to gladden you, and shall his stay be brief.
You'll have his lovely memories as solace and relirf.
"I cannot promise he will stay, since all from earth return,
But there are some lessons taught down there I want this child to learn.
I've looked the wide world over in my search for teachers true
And from the throngs that crowd life's lanes I have selected you.
Noe will you give him all your love, nor think the labor vain,
Nor hate Me when I come to take him back again?"
For all the joy Thy child shall bring, the risk of grief we'll run.
We'll shelter him with tenderness, we'll love him while we may
And for the happiness we've known forever grateful stay,
But shall the angels call for him much sooner than we've planned.
We'll brave the bitter grief that comes and try to understand."

I remember You
When I walk into my church,
I remember you.
When I see children playing in the school yard,
Girls and boys of all kinds,
I remember.
When I see families working together,
Regardless of religion or nationlity,
I remember you.
When I go to sleep
Without worry for my family's safety,
I remember you.
When I see our flag waving in front of my home,
And when I can salute that flag without fear of reprisal,
I remember you.
When I remember you,
I think of the sacrifices you made so I could have these things.
I think of your commitment and your service
beyond mere duty.
I think of all that you have given
So that I and those whom I love can be free.
When I pray at night and give thanks
For the blessings God has given,
I remember you.

TAPS

If any of you have ever been to a military funeral in which taps was played; this brings out a new meaning of it.

Here is something Every American should know. Until I read this, I didn't know, but I checked it out and it's true:

We in the United States have all heard the haunting song, 'Taps.' It's the song that gives us the lump in our throats and usually tears in our eyes.

But, do you know the story behind the song? If not, I think you will be interested to find out about its humble be… Continue

Hi Florence! I am so glad your computer is up and working now. We missed you! I work in the DMV office in my county and we received notice today that a Gold Star Military Plate will be issued to those who request one! Have you checked in Georgia to see if they have them already? I was so happy to see that a car tag was being made to remember those who have served our country. Please check to see if the GA DMV office provides those too. I thought of your son when I read the notice. God Bless and stay strong. We love you and your family.

I attended a Memorial Service today in Louisiana. There was a lady with a walker pointing out her husband's flag that was displayed proudly. She said her husband was a pilot in Vietnam in 1965. I also thought of Adam. As a mother, I can't imagine your loss. But I know he gave so much for us. God bless you.
