- From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
- I have learned that researching and learning more about the Navy/ Naval Academy is crucial if you are planning on being as involved as possible in your sailor's life.
Also, I have realized that being supportive not only helps your sailor, but yourself as well.
Joining forums and other support groups inclined to the Navy is helpful. Viewing other peoples' views, opinions, and experiences is very reassuring.

It's time for all of us to get together again. We are going to meet Saturday, August 29. I placed a discussion out there a while back, but with summer and busy schedules there weren’t too many responses. With that in mind, I am going to invite all who are interested to my home and we’ll BBQ and pack boxes and just catch up on our Sailors. I don’t know that I have all of the Colorado Moms on my email, so please feel free to pass this along to any on your friends list. As always the more the merrier. Molly’s Adopt-A-Sailors have adopted the USS CROMMELIN. The USS Crommelin is a frigate and the home to 252 of our sailors. They are based out of Hawaii and are currently on deployment. There are 250 males and 2 females aboard.
And, not only are they happy about us adopting them, they are ecstatic!
They will be half-way through deployment about mid-September, so we are going to help them celebrate with a HAWAIIAN LUAU. Let’s show our Colorado Love.

Thanks for asking me to be your friend. Is Geoff , jpjades's , son? Congratulations on your BF getting into the academy. It is such an honor. Do you know about the "2% club" ? That is the club you will belong to if you are still Geoff's GF when he graduates. I'm sure you will be a very proud member of that club on commissioning day!! There is also a USNA GF website somewhere, I think. I'm sure you have found a lot of support on the internet and sounds like you and Alaina127 are getting to be great friends. I know I need the friendship of other moms here to get me thru this. I miss my mid so much. He is 2nd class now, a junior. He loves it there, but does get frustrated at times. There is so much work and stress in their lives. But, I'm sure if he knows you are there to support him, he will be so much better off. Good luck to the both of you. I also LOVE to talk anything about the Naval Academy, so please feel free to ask me anything if you have questions. I'm trying to help Geoff's mother all I can. haha!

Haha is still cant believe that our boyfriends are in the same company. Thats too funny.
So you still have another year of highschool?
I have gotten about 10 letters. He writes everyday, but they take forever to get to me. Maybe since i live closer they get to me sooner... Im sure more will be coming for ya!
I am sure that we will meet on parents weekend, especially now that we know our boyfriends are in the same company and platoon! lol that is just to weird.

I will be going to parents weekend. I will be there on friday saturday night, and sunday. I have to leave saturday because my sisters boyfriend has his commisioning at Quantico. Its only about an hour away
What company and platoon is your BF in?
I am surprised about the stability also. I guess it was just ment to be. I was feeling a little bit unsure the past few days as to how he felt towards me now that he is gone, but i got a letter today and he just spilled out everything to me saying how he wont be able to go through with this unless i am in his life : ) it made me feel so good.
