My understanding is that they get 5 days off. Not until they get to the base will they know what days they have off. They will be given duties on the base until school starts. So the tickets will be expensive by the time we get the info.

Well, you need to tell your sailor to add the person to their guest list. So you will need first and last name. Send the name to your sailor and they will add. Not sure if there is a cutoff on when names can be added. But give it a try.

Got a letter from Alex on Thursday. He is disapponted with the childishness of some the guys, as it affects the entire unit. He is looking forward to PIR and misses home a lot. I am hoping for a wonderful weekend with him. WOW, 25 more days.

I am also from Florida (Miami) and had given the jeans a long, hard thought. I have settled on black pants, boots, not sure about the top...and my beautiful red scarf. I don't have winter clothes, we have maybe 5 days of winter down here.

I think there are no extra seats no matter what. But if someone has leftovers, they can put someone else on the list. We did, and it was great. And I am so very much looking forward to meeting that grandma!!

Hi Grace, welcome to Navy for Mom's:)) You will find a lot of answers, support and encouragement here. My daughter, Ashley (20), has been in the Navy since July 2007 and is an IT3 & my son Tim (19) has been in since Feb 2008 stationed on the USS Nimitz.. What will your son/daughter be doing with the Navy? If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. I'm glad you joined and look forward to hearing more about you & your recruit. Pat
