You're very welcome. I just went through this last year myself. Boot Camp is pretty scary for us moms. The not knowing how our baby is doing.
It will get easier for you each day. By the time you receive the gradaution (PIR) package, you're at the half way point ( 4 th week)
I can't beleive it's a year already since I was in Chicago. That flew by. I was so hoping to get tickets for the Steve Wilkos TV show. I love that guy!! HAAH! Unfortuanately, it goes on vocation in June and July. I did get a free T-shirt though!! HAAH!!
Please don't hestitate to write. I am always around.
Take care and God bless.
Barbara
How are you doing today? This Navy for moms is such a blessing.
I see your son Ed just left for Boot Camp. He's fine and in good hands with the Navy.
I'll let you know what to expect. Sometime next week, you'll receive the box with Ed's ciivilin clothes in it. There's no letter in it, we all looked for ours! HAHA!
The second week, you'll recieve a form letter. On the back , is about two sentences from Ed. You'll have some relief seeing his handwritting.
Around the third week is your first long letter. Now, the return adress on this envelope is the one you write back to.
I do warn moms, sometimes that first letter is sad. Don't panic if it is. Once Ed gets into the rountine of Boot Camp and over being homesick, he will like Boot Camp. They all do beleive it or not.
You may also receive a phone call from Ed the following weekend, after the first letter.
The foruth week will be your graduation package.
It's the moms having nervous breakdowns! HAhA!
Please stay in touch with other Navy moms. I'm always around. Together, we will help you get through Boot Camp.....we haven't lost a mom yet! HAHAH!
Please don't hestitate to write.
Take care and God bless,
Barbara
We are so glad that you are here! This is a great place to meet others that know exactly how you feel!
We have something for everyone here groups from boot camp moms to overseas moms and moms that like to scrap book. We have meet and greets to events that the moms set up to meet each other and have dinner or an outing. There are groups to help you with each and every step of this wonderful adventure that our children have chosen called the US Navy.
Please tell us about your sailor and what they have chosen to do in the navy and ohh yeah we LOVE pictures of everyone !!
Please let me know if you have any questions I can help you with.
