My husband Bill is my rock we have been married 23 years and have been together since high school so about 29 years all together. I am also an RN but I now am an educator in critical care.

Who knows about Quartermaster A School. My neice is there now, she hasn't started yet...or maybe she has but I wanted to find out some info on the A school and what that job will be doing when they get to a ship or a duty station. I know they'll be assistants to the navigators, plotting, charting, and maybe even getting qualified to drive the ship but I want the scoop from someone who's actually there!!

Hello Heidi, My name is Alice,my son is aQM on the USS Nassau.He graduated A school Aug 8 ,08.He just left Galveston where they were helping out.James is the youngest of four boys,he is 20 as of aug.24.We are from the hill country of Texas.James loves being A QM.Hated A school,but loves the Navy,even liked BC.Please feel free to ask me anything. Hi Heidi! So great meeting you two as well. We had a great cruise in spite of Tropical storm Fay (two days and I still feel like I'm rocking-lol) Bry called us yesterday and is anxious to get some clothes and his cell. Will be going to post office in morn. I just loved your camera! Mine took terrible pics.Can't wait to see more of yours. How was your fishing trip?

Thanks for that picture, Im going to try and copy it over to my computer. I was reading the posts from terri and she asked if your last name was paridise, if so I heard about you son from Matt, I guess hes making a killing doing other peoples ironing, matt paid him $5 to do his ironing one night. I just cracked up. It was too funny.

Hopefully you don't think I'm some nut- I'm just so happy that you found this sight. I told Bryan like 4 letters in a row to tell his friend to tell his mom about this site! I've never had one of my kids so far away, and to not be able to speak to him for so long is so hard. He never had gone away for school or even camp! Never more than a couple of nights but there was always calls or texts!

well, I'm sure our sons will introduce us. We are staying at Homewood suites in Lincolnshire. Bry wants to go see Batman friday. Just our other son is coming with us to PIR- our 2 daughters are staying home to care for 89 yr old mother in law who lives with us. We are only staying til Saturday afternoon because we had already planned a 25th ann. cruise that leaves Monday long before he decided to enlist! So i feel kind of bad that we won't be with him sunday- but I had already made final pymt on trip and couldn't reschedule. have a safe trip and we'll see you friday- bright and early! Pray we get those calls early!!

I was so thrilled that after being stuck at the airport for 2 days that they ended up in the same Division! that made an easier transition for both of them I think. I have only gotten one phone call from bryan and hope he can call me before we head out to airport at 330 thursday. where are you staying for PIR
