Command Career Counselor :~}

Latest Activity

Since the application process is currently closed. I am looking for other options. Trying to get Robert home for Christmas. Its will be his last chance to be with family for almost a year.

If he uses Space A he needs to make sure he has money to fly back. Reserve not on Active duty and not with orders are down at the bottom of the list. There is a high chance he will be bumped off the flight.

The program this article is talking about is sailors who request to seperate 12 months early. This is NOT a program where the USN just goes out and tells people they are seperating.

This is my thoughts on what you have posted..... I am wondering if your son has failed out of training and is being seperated. If this was his second "A" School there is a high chance he would be seperated if he failed out of two "A" Schools. As ...

Hi everyone, I found out the 31 July 2009 that I was selected for Chief. Wanted to let you all know that I won't be on very much over the next 6 weeks as I will be going though "training" on how to be a Chief.

Hi Angie,

You mention in PIR dates in Dec in the Boot camp forum that on Dec 30 - Div 029 will PIR along with approx 12 other divisions. Assuming they will be sequential, that means Ship 9 Div 031 will PIR that day, correct?

Thanks!

Hi Hoppi-- my boyfriend just got to A school to become an EN. I'm looking for information on the job and what it entails just in general. And if a sailor takes leave for the holidays which my sailor is hoping to, can they not take any leave in between A school and being stationed?

Hope to hear from you soon!

Hi Hoppi,
I have some questions that I'm hoping you can give me some answers to. My daughter has been in the Navy for one year now. She graduated from college in 2008. It took her just three years to get her degree. She could not find a job and decided to join the Navy. Since she was still living away from home because of college when she met her recruiter her father and I did not get to meet him or ask any questions. She handled all this by herself. First mistake. We met her recruiter for the first time when she was being sworn in. He seemed like a nice enough person. I don't think he intentionally tried to mislead her. Right before she was to be sworn in she told us that she had signed up for six years which was very upsetting to me. She is my only child and I didn't think she should have signed up that long without knowing what she was getting into. By signing for six years she received a signing bonus. Her recruiter talked her out of the four year program where the Navy would have paid for her student loans. She now has $42K in deferred student loans. She wants to start her masters and was accepted but can't get loans for it because of her existing student loans. She was also told she doesn't qualify for the GI bill for two years. Of course, I don't know anything about any of this. I only know what she is being told when she visits the counseling people where she is stationed. She is currently an MA and is not happy with her job. She's considered OCS but is concerned they will make her commit to more time. Can you give us any direction or insight? Thanks so much for you time.
