- I am married for 27 years with two sons. One son is engaged to be married and my youngest in in the Navy. How I miss him! Both of my boys are strong, young men and I am very proud of them.

- From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
- That yes he will always be my baby, and I will always worry about him but I learned that he is capable of making strong choices even without me being right there. He has come to realize that his life was pretty good before he left, but he made a commitment and he will see it through and is trying his hardest to do his best at whatever they assign him to do. This has been a good choice for him. He is smart and this gives him a chance to show what he can really do.

I am so glad you are planning on coming to the Meet and Greet. Did you by chance stay at the Red Carpet Inn just down the street from the base in Great Lakes for graduation? I know there were several families that did and there was one just a few doors down from our room. We were there on August 21st and 22nd, 2008. For some reason the pictures above look very familiar. Is your husband coming for the Meet & Greet also? I think I have talked my husband into coming but he is very shy. If your husband comes he will be able to talk about the Navy but will also be able to talk about Two Harbors. I look forward to meeting as many as possible.

I think Two Harbors is a neat little town. In fact there was a house out on Scenic 61 that we had even looked into. Before we could even figure out who to contact, it sold. Never fails. Anyone who goes up to the North Shore and on up towards Grand Marais has got to know where this wonderful town is. I will keep in touch and let you know when we go up there again. Won't be until early summer probably.
How long has Ian been in the Navy? Shawn, my son, has been in since June of 2008. It looks like he has been in for a while. Do you think he will make it a career? Shawn mentioned it after he went through basic submarine class but hasn't said anything further since then. I don't know if he has changed his mind or not.

Welcome to N4M Minnesota! Our group continues to grow and the more the better. We can support each other as our men go through their duty with the Navy. Where is Ian right now? My son Shawn is in submarine classes in Groton, CT. He feels he will be there until approximately next September. He is working really hard to get in the top 5% of his class so he will have a better chance to be stationed somewhere he desires. I hope Ian is where he has chosen and that he really enjoys what he is doing. Please tell him Thank You for his decision to serve in the Navy and his dedication to protecting our freedom.
My husband and I have gone through Two Harbors many times in route to Castle Danger. We have vacationed there staying in the Castle Haven Cabins just 12 miles north of you. We love it there! If we get the chance to go up there this summer, we'll have to see if we can meet. That would be fun.
