Profile Information

About me:
I have three children, two boys and one girl. Plus two dogs, one high maintenance, the other laid back. Same thing with the kids. My oldest is our sailor and his PIR was this past summer. He is in between schools right now and we are hoping to see him at Christmas.

Flat Daddies or Mommies

About a year ago, I saw a news piece that talked about children of deployed soldiers and sailors taking their Flat Daddies everywhere. Flat Daddies are life sized cardboard cutouts, waist up, of a Mom or Dad. At the time I didn't have a child in the military, but I toyed with the idea of having one made of my boss, just so he would know what it felt like to see himself scowling.
