Hi Jason's Mom and Dad! Don and sorry can't remembeer your first name :( I here congratulations are in order! How exciting! Have they planned a date or is it down the road a bit?
Dan's doing better in school and liking it. His grades have gone up and seems really happy there. So I am happy. Glad to know he feels he made the right choice for himself. Hope you both are doing well!

Hi Don: Just thought I would check in with you. How is Jason doing and where is he currently? Andrew is in Dam Neck and about half-way through A school. Says its going good but the units get harder and harder as the weeks go by. Love to hear from you. Suzanne

Don he is using the night instructors. he got bumped up on his study hours to 3. But he's ok with that. He's doing well in the electronics stuff, or feels he knows it at this point. i guess test on mon.
He's not discouraged so that's good. Sounds like he and Jason have become friends. Seems at least the old Div 052 has bonded and new friends are being made, so that's good too. Thanks for your encouragement for me! I can then sound more up to pass along to him. The Chicago moms are having a meet and greet tomorrow. Looking forward to meeting a few more moms & Dads & i know 1 sailor is coming!

Thanks Don. Dan's score ws midrange he said but on the lowere side. 1.9 I think with the lowest being .7. Although he has 2 years of jr. college under his belt, he hasn't had math since jr. year of high school. Nor has he really studied. He's putting extra time in study hall or whatever they call it. So hopefully they all do well tomorrow! keep in touch.

Just wanted to check in to see what you have heard from Jason as far as school goes. Dan sounded good on Tues. A little overwhelmed today. Said that they had a math test which there were a wide range of scores. Said the math class instructor not the best and the night study hall instructor kinda reaffirmed tht. Guess that is par for the course. Just like college. I know they are planning a super bowl party since they didn't really have "holidays". Test on Mon. Hope the don't celebrate too late!

Hi Jason's Momand Dad!
Sounds like our boys are hanging out in warm SC! Beats the weather here! Battering down for the "blizzard" they are predicting for tonight! Dan's looking forward to classes starting instead of picking up trash and sweeping parking lots. But knows it will get more stressful at that point. It's been nice to hear from him. One of my other boys dropped off his cell at Ohare before they flew. Don't know if that was a no no or not. But I've been real sick with pneumonia (I think he shared with me when he was home for Christmas with one of the other recruits) so his calls have helped perk me up. I wanted also to thank you both for keeping our grop up to speed with info. Being military illiterate every bit has helped!

WE had asked around about the SAFB, and were told they no longer provide this service. What do you know that I should know?
Have a great trip!! Keep warm. Just be amazed at Jason and his pride.

Sorry Don but I'm still just seeing the original 13 pics !! I was anxious to see Jason in his uniform. Andrew called at 5:30 and said they are officially Sailors !! I was so excited. He said they did an awesome job in Battlestations and they are very, very tired.

Hi Jason's Mom and Dad, We appreciate all the info you gave us about the division and the upcoming PIR. I hope Jason's lip is feeling better. That must have been scary seeing he had hurt himself. Hans said it had been mighty cold up there. Apparently I have mentioned the weather and the cold in every letter I had written to Hans because he said that to me. It was great to hear his voice again even if he was a little congested and had a cough. It was funny when I got Hans call. I recognized the area code and excitedly told my daughter Heidi "It's Hans". We were in a store at Dollywood called The Old Gristmill. The sales lady asked "What's with your mom." Heidi told her my brother is at Navy bootcamp and we haven't spoken to him in almost 8 weeks. The lady just smiled and nodded at Heidi. I hurried out the store talking to Hans and found Burt so he could talk to him. We were waiting for a show to start so we had quite some time to talk. I should say, I listened as Hans did the talking. My husband would say that is unusual lol. We will all be doing alot of talking soon with our new sailor. We can't wait! We'll meet ya'll {a little Tennessee lol] in Great Lakes Il.
