Jeane-It is wonderful that Joshua decided to join the Navy at 31 years old. The young men in BC need some more mature men to guide them sometimes and by the sounds of it, Joshua has done just that which was proven by him being chosen as an HONOR RECRUIT!! That is one for the treasure box for sure!!!!! Chris is 22. I don't know how the parents of 18 years old can handle it. I had a hard enough time cutting the strings!
Just think in less then 24 hours you can no longer call Joshua a Recruit! He will be a US NAVY SAILOR!!! I feel so lucky to be able to call my son a SAILOR now and also for all the wonderful new friends I have met through this site!! You all have helped me so much. Are you going to the Meet & Greet?
If so,see you there!!! I am getting nervous. They are calling for snow here tonight and tomorrow. Our flight leaves at 10AM. I hope it takes off okay!!!!
Try and relax tonight and don't do what I did last night. I kept looking at the clock wondering what they were doing.I saw 2am,3am etc.... I am sure
Joshua will do fine and that call tomorrow afternoon will be music to your ears!!! Let me know if you can. I will be checking the site from IL!

I got my call earlier today. I was running errands before my trip and he called.
I have a SAILOR!! I must have looked pretty silly in the Bank parking lot
crying! I am just so happy and proud of him! He sounded so tired. He was saying that he remembers swaying as he got his cap he is so tired. He had watch the night before also, so he is exhausted. I hope they all get a good night sleep and get their strength back. They are going to need it on Friday when all of us parents jump on them to hug them!!!! I should bring a beach towel with me. A tissue will not be enough to catch my tears of happiness!
Way to go Division 907!!! CONGRATS TO ALL OUR SAILORS, and to us MOMS too for making it through BC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good luck to your division and your son tonight Jeane!! Oh did I read that your son in an HONOR GRADUATE??? Wonderful!! You must be sooooo proud!!!!

Lauren was born for Aircrew, and she's still undecided if she's gonna volunteer for Rescue Swimmer. I'm hoping boot camp has given her the confidence she needs to make that decision.
ahhh intelligence! Very cool! Is he planning on making it a career? If he doesnt stay military, he can take his clearance and make some BIG bucks in the civillian world! And its kinda funny, Joshua is only 12 years younger than me! haha! Thanks for the pic comments, I take pictures constantly! I drive Lauren crazy with it! lol

We'll be sure to look for you up in Great Lakes! Congrats to Joshua on Honor Grad, that is very special!

Jeane, about the cake reception, we didn't stick around for cake. lol I don't think it would have lasted very long anyway. They seem to want everyone out of there asap. We wanted to get out of there and enjoy time with our sailor. BTW they only let 3 of the 4 of us go to the reception. There is a receiving line of oh, about 8-10 sailors (commanding officers I guess) that you shake hands with. I was impressed that they all talked to Adam on a more personal level. Like what his job is and such.
Also, honor recruits sometimes get promoted up a rank. Adam said it all depends. (?) He didn't explain.
Congrats to you and your sailor!!! That's a nice way to bring in the new year! Will you have time with your sailor after graduation or is he a grad and go?
Merry Christmas!!!
