Hello ladies. My son's new to the Alex, having recently transferred from a Virginia class. Can anyone hook me up with the ombudsman? Do you folks get a monthly Alex newsletter?

My sailor's going from a Virginia class to an Los Angeles class. I understand the 88s have a sonar shack whereas the Virginias' sonar stations are in the conn. That's going to be different.

I work in Actuarial Systems at a large insurance company. I've been employed there for 20 years. My father is a retired Army officer. I have three grown children. My oldest son enlisted in the Navy after having been laid off from his job. He was about ten years older than his fellow boot camp shipmates, married with two school age children.

When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was concerned or afraid
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
I learned that even children who aren't so young can find a calling with the Navy. And just because he isn't 18 anymore doesn't mean that his mom is any less concerned.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:

Hi Jeanne,
Sorry that Stephen couldn't be there, yes the Navy comes first. Ryan made that clear when he was home back in January( last time I saw him)
Was he close to your dad? I know when my mom passed away Ryan made the comment that all had left were the mean grandmothers Ryan was close to my mother and his step grandmother. He doesn't really know my dad that well, but he was very close to my stepfather who passed away 5 years ago. Just remember that your dad will always be with you in your heart and spirit.
Many hugs
Sandy

Hey mom,

I think you should add 778 after your name. Just an opinion. :)
