Profile Information
- About me:
- Both of our kids joined the Navy. Kristen in 01' and Ben in 07'. Kristen is a CTI at Ft. Meade, MD and Ben is with ACU-5 on the USS Boxer. Not what we had originally planned for our children but then, we didn't know at the time just what the Navy could do for them. We are so proud of our two sailors! We've since moved to Hawaii and take every opportunity to open our home to their friends pulling into port on their way to or from deployment.

- When I heard “Navy,” I:
- Needed to learn more about it
- From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
- What a flag waver I am. We've always supported and participated in our childrens' interests and activities while growing up. It continues even now with both of them in the Navy. We can see even stronger values, discipline, responsibility, and pride in themselves now that they're part of the US Navy. Another big plus; Kristen is getting out of the Navy in June. She will be pulling close to 6 figure income, and, no student loans to pay off. She's earned one degree while serving in the Navy and plans to continue her education (paid) after she's out.
- Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
- It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.
