How are you holding up?
I know, Boot Camp is scary for us moms. The unknown with our baby! I was a nervous wreck too last year. Many moms helped me out through Boot Camp.
Then after all those weeks of being nervous, after graduation, my daughter Kim told me she loved Boot Camp. Who'd think, right.? I hear that a lot from other Navy moms from their children.
It just takes a few weeks for the recruits to get into the rountine of Boot Camp and homesickness. Anything new is hard.
Wait until your son starts writting in Navy lingo. That's fun trying to figure out! HAHA!
Let me get going. Please stay in touch.
Take care and God bless,
Barbara
How are you doing today? This Navy for moms is such a blessing.
You're going to be fine. We all went through this.
I'll let you know what to expect. For starters, your son is fine. You do need patience.
Next week you'll recieve the box with his belongings in it. Warning, it does give an empty feeling. We all been through this.
The second week you'll recieve th Form letter. Don't misplace this. This Form letter is now combined with graduation information. It will also have your son's address along with his Division and Ship number. It will have a couple of sentences from your son on the back. You'll have some releif seeing his handwritting.
Around the third week you'll' recieve your first long letter form you son. Another warning, sometimes that first letter is sad. Don't panic if it is. His letters will get more uplifting.
During Boot Camp, you'll also get 3-4 phone calls from him.
Once your son gets into the rountine of Boot Camp and over being homesick, he'll like Boot Camp. They all do beleive it or not.
It's the moms having the nervous breakdowns! HAHA!
Please stay in touch with other Navy moms. I'm al;ways here. Together we'll help you though Boot Camp....we haven't lost a mom yet! HAHA!
Please don't hesitate to write.
Take care and God bless,
Barbara
