Jen, it is Tues evening and I just got a call from Chris. He is fine and so is Kyle. I asked Chris about him and he said Kyle was fine. I also told Chris to tell Kyle that you said hi and that you are thinking of him. Chris said ok "I will".

Chris also said that BS is Wed nite. To be praying for them. I told him that we are leaving early Thurs to go to the airport and then we will be on a plane all afternoon. I reminded him that I will have my cell plus his. Plus his dad & sis will have theirs. He just laughed.

But it was so nice to hear from him. I just wanted you to know. Not even sure if you will get this message. But I have to try. I also put a post on the group.

I am so happy I could jump through the ceiling right now!

You are welcome. We stayed at the Navy inn and were pleased. THey don't however, have a free breakfast. They DID have a lot of other brand new sailors' families there. They were very close by. We went up to Gruene Mall ( north about 30 min on the interstate) for dinner and shopping, every where close by was all packed with- you guessed it- sailors and families. Where is he going after PIR?

Yes we drove from Houston area to GL last November. Went one way up and another back. Would def. recommend the return trip[ both ways. We went up through Oklahoma and missori and across to Illinois and it was a great trip. We drove in snow part of the way but you will NOT have that problem. I will give you map if you would like the details. Martha.Mosshart@gmail.com

We are taking a suitcase w/some of his personal clothing/items for him and putting them in a storage locker for when he gets priveleges in A school they will already be there for him. All he has to do is take a cab to the storage locker and get it out. It beats having to pay for shipping. Something to think about.

We drove from San ANtonio to GL in March. It was LONG and there was no really easy way to get there. THe route was straightforward, we followed mapquest's directions and they were accurate and easy to follow. BUt, with 4 of us going we could not manage airline tickets. One thing: take some of your sailor's things with you. In a black backpack. Turned out our division 818 sailors moved out of boot camp to GLNS ( grad n go) on friday. we were able to give him personal items, jogging shoes, mp3, phone, clothes over the weekend. THey were able to spend the whole weekend with their families in the hotel rooms and reported back on MOnday am, because they were not in boot camp anymore but under the next command.

Jen, I just wanted you to know that my daughter got a letter from Chris dated on the 26. In that letter he mentions that BS are on Wed all night. So if that is right then we may not get a call until Thurs sometime. I know you will be on the road by then. We leave for the airport Thurs morning. So talk about knowing the last minute. Just don't panic if you don't get a call sooner. Just in case.
