Happy mother's day all. I have to say I'm glad my son finished at Correy station back in Feb. I don't think they were having this kind of trouble when he was there. I worry some because he is so far away in Japan, but I know he's got a good head o...

My son is in Yokosuka. He has been there for a little over a month and will be there at least 2 years. As far as communicating with him, the cheapest way is Skype, which is free. It is a computer program, sort of like instant messaging. You just n...

Hi Evelyn, my son just recently finished A school and no, he didn't need a laptop. It would be something to use on your sailor's own time. My son got one when he arrived in Japan that he uses to keep in touch with family and friends. Regarding dre...

When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
that I need to have faith in my son and that he knows what he wants out of life. I need to trust that he will do what is needed for himself. I also learned that he is still the same old son he was before he went into the Navy, but with more maturity.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Joan: Hi....this is the time of the year I really wished I lived in Flagstaff!!! Just finished mowing the back yard. Have got to do it early or you'll die from heat stroke in Phoenix! Wanted to let you know that Paige has an event planned in Prescott Valley of the 22nd. It's listed on the "Events" page. Hope you can make it.

Joan: Hi....I'll bet Flagstaff is great right now. It's already hot in the valley....hit 104* on Saturday!! About the Recruiter Recognition Day. So far you're the only mom from Flag who has responded. I had a thought, if you're willing. Could you just pick up a card of some kind....actually any kind on "Thank You"...the dollor stores usually have them. Just address it to Navy Recruiters of Flagstaff and send it to their office. Sign it something like Joan (last name if you want), mother of__________, Navy for moms. I'm just trying to make sure that we get as many cards out as we can. If you can, that will be great....but don't stress over it! Hope we can meet up again over the summer!

Joan: Hey there....how's everything in Flagstaff? It's starting to get pretty hot in Phoenix, wish I lived up North in the summer! Just wanted to let you know that a new event has been posted. This one you don't even need to leave home for! May 16th is Armed Forces Day. If you go onto the "Events" page it's a RECRUITER RECOGNITION "card party" on May 16th. Just send a ray of sunshine to your sons recruiter by sending a card. If you decide to join in, please go to the "Event" page and respond. It will be fun to see how many moms join in. Hopefully we can all get together again this summer. The last picnic was loads of fun.

Joan: I'm so glad you'll be able to make the picnic. I'll try to send out an email 10 to 14 days prior to remind everyone about the address and time....and to get an idea of what everyone in bringing. This should be a lot of fun!!! We even have moms from Tucson planning to attend.

Joan: I'm sorry you'll miss the potluck tomorrow but I'll try to get the April 4th one posted this weekend. I'm really new to the computer world, so I'll get it done as soon as I can figure out how to do it!! The potluck/picnic on the 4th is in a large park with a lagoon and playground, so bring the family if you want to. I hope to meet you then.
