Hi, Justinsmom... my recruit, Zach, will be graduating August 7, also. He is a DEPPER that I adopted. My oldest graduated from RTC June 13, 2008, and is now deployed. So... this is my second RTC rollercoaster ride! You will do just fine with all of the support you will find here at N4Ms to get you through. This 8-week journey is one day, one week at a time. There is nothing like becoming a Navy family, no matter how big or how small your own family is, you now have become a part of the most wonderful family of all, the USN family!

Hi Justins mom, I had trouble when I first started. If the Inbox shows you have messages click on the inbox. Then you will see who sent it and to the right of that click on to the subject: example how do I retrieve my replies and then they should show up. I hope that works.

joilynn welcome it is very hard when they first leave but it will get easier, not easy but easier. This website helps alot. Everyone is feeling or has felt the same as you do now. We are all here to help each other through. When you start getting letters it will help. Believe it or not that 8 weeks will be here before you know it. You will be sitting in the drill hall for a very emotional ceremony, and as proud of him as you are now you will be even prouder that day. Just write lots of letters and tell him how much you love him and how proud you are of him. It helps and they need to hear that. They love to get mail it is the only communication to the outside world and keep your letters very upbeat.

When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was concerned or afraid
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
I know nothing about the Navy.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.
