Kevin
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was relieved, Encouraged him/her
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
Write encouraging, uplifting, supportive and funny letters, often (daily).
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger, This was a maturing experience, This was the best decision he/she could have made
HI Marianne,
I see your from Placentia...I am too!!
What does your son do in the Navy and how long has he been in now?
My son KC is an Engineman/Fireman aboard his ship which is currently on deployment. This is his very first deployment and first time away from home during the holidays. He has been in for seventeen months now and I am missing him so very much right now. I thought BC was tough but my sailor being away on deployment is even tougher.
Hope to hear from you and have a Happy Holiday!
Blessings, Karen
Katie started BC on 10/8 with a PIR of 12/5. So far all I know is that she will be training for DC...no more details. I get letters from her each week and have not rec'd any phone calls except for when she first arrived. Where will Kevin go after A school? or is it too early to know yet?
Hi there local Navy Mom.....it;s been a while since I wrote. I enjoyed looking at your pictures, it brought back a lot of memories. Our son graduated from boot 3 years ago. It's one of our proudest moments!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kevo's Mom, I am going to change the script to the color white and hope this helps out. Thanks again for being a buddy and welcome to an AWESOME WEBSITE. This is truly a family.

Judi,
I wish I was there too!!!! I am back home in boring Missouri. I have almost lost my voice totally. James has so many wonderful stories to tell about Kevin. He was sad that he didnt get to say goodbye properly but said he knew he would see him again one day. Especially if we stay in contact. He said he didnt think that their meeting was "just by chance" He said that Kevin now had the direction and discipline he needed to succeed.
And arent we some sexy Sailors Moms????? LOL
I will never forget this awesome experience we have shared. And I dont have any intentions of going anywhere. I plan on hauting you and Kathy for a long time. Its a very rare gift to find women friends that you can bond with like we did.
And yes James is headed right into the Hurricane. As a matter of fact I am sitting here waiting on him to call and let me know he has arrived in Pensacola. He was told they wanted every able body they could get down there for Hurricane relief. James said that he was ready to go. And to him, serving his Country wasnt just killing enemies. He felt like this was his time to stand up and stand out and show them what he was Navy strong. It gave me goose bumps to hear him speak like that. And leaving him was harder this time than it was the first. He said he is going to do whatever it takes to earn Liberty in 2 weeks. I told him I would be there to see him. So now I am waiting on another "I'm here" phone call, and then an address so I can send his cell phone and clothes. Have a GREAT time in Cincinatti! And tell me the truth, my eyes were red in that photo werent they????
Love you,
Jacquie
