Said “No way!”
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
It's now her life. My role is to support, support. love and support( throw in a little encouragement when needed also). Several weeks into BC now and I am Very proud of her progress!! Update 2/09 she's still at A school for DC but just got her orders for a CVN. I'm very excited for her!! I'm burning up my Library card getting info for whole family.

Hi June,
My daughter is a DC on the USS George Washington, we call it the GW, I think they are calling the Bush GWB. Your story touched my heart, I aw that you have an adopted daughter, my mom used to carry a saying in her wallet. "Not bone of my bone, but still Miraculously all my own." Anyway, my daughter has been a DC for 2 years, it's a hard road for women, one in which they have to do twice the work to prove themselves, but once they have done that, they seem to really enjoy their job. My daughter had always wanted to become a teacher when she gets out, but now she's looking into being a fire fighter forever.

Hi my daughter is in DC also. She is in BC with a PIR of 12/5. Doesn't look like there are a lot of daughters out there in this field.

Hey June. My daughter's PIR is 11/7/08 and she's in DC, too! Wonder if they know each other! Just wanted to stop by and say, "Hi."

Hello June!
My daughter is a section leader in Div 430 so I am sure she knows Kimberly! Although they only go by last names. We are making reservations for PIR when we get back from our son's PIR on 10/17. I have heard alot about the Residence Inn - Waukegan but we are staying at the Courtyard. Glad your daughter is doing well. Did you get a grad pack yet?

I will keep you informed on any news I get- Kasey's recruiter seems to think we will receive PIR news this week. At least by Friday he said, if not he wants me to call him Monday. Maybe we have mail at home waiting for us :)

June, in those 2 lines I received from my daughter Kasey, she said she was the RCPO (hopefully she still is) so they must know each other. When I write to her today I'll mention it. Have you made reservations yet? I was waiting to hear from Kasey with the PIR date, Nov 7th seems too soon - But sounds good. Joanne
