Hi Kara,

Sorry I haven,t been on here until now. I went to Denver to visit with Jessica. How is your daughter? I was helping Jess pack things to send back home, as she is getting ready to head to Norfolk to get on her ship, the USS Bulkeley. They certainly collect a lot of things over a 2 year period!

Hi Kara:
Did you go to playlist.com and create an account? And were you able to add songs to your playlist? When your playlist is complete, click on </> EMBED at the bottom of the playlist. Once you click on it, it will change to "Get Player Code". Next you get 3 of questions, on #3 (autostart; random; custom skin; choose color) is a green box on the left that says "Get Code". Click on that.

Kara,
I am a Clinical Microbiologist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist. I work in the laboratory at a local Hospital/Trauma Facility. It has approx. 300 beds, a NICU, etc. We stay very, very, busy! Oh, also, the pictures on my page of the soldier in the sand and on the truck are of my niece, Taryn. She is my sister's daugter. She is in the Army Reserve and is on her second deployment. Her first was in Iraq for 18 months and she then came back to Missouri and was in her last semester at University of MO - Columbia, when she was re-deployed. She is now in Kuwait and her Professors sent her classes to her via satellite so she will finish her Bachelors Degree with her classmates. She is supposed to be home in June. She is 3 years older than my girls. We are very proud of all our military in our family. My sister's other daughter is in the Army and is a Medic. Her husband is in the Navy and is a Recruiter. And then of course, my new son-in-law is in the Air Force and is a Staff Sergeant.

Hi Kara,
I work nights, so, that is why I get on here so sporadically. Jill is CTT and Jess is CTR. They are both E4. I am so proud of those girls! Everybody said they were to "girly" to make it in the Navy. Well, they have been in for almosgt 3 years and they are still going strong! I know you are super proud of your daughter also. My girls both have light brown hair normally. They like to "enhance" the color on occasion. Jill turned her hair back to her natural color right before she went on her ship. Jess, I am sure, will do the same.

Kara,
Jess and Jill graduated from high school in 2006. They just turned 21 last Friday (2-27). I didn't get to speak with Jill on her B-Day, but talked with Jess for awhile. Some of her co-worker, classmates, from the Navy, came and got her at midnight on 2-27 and took her out for a celebration. She had fun, but, was very tired the next day. You asked where Jill's ship's home port is. It is in Norfolk. Jess will also be in Norfolk after the first of April. She is assigned to the USS Bulkeley.
I am sure you miss your daughter as much as I miss both of mine. We all love to travel and they have been my travel partners for awhile. Their Dad and I were married for 17 years and then we parted ways. So, they girls and I have been on our own since 2001. What ship is your daughter on? What is her rate?

Hi Kara,
Yes, my girls decided to join the Navy while in their senior year at high school. Jess decided first, and then Jill. Jill is the quieter of the two. She is on her ship now and a little sad as she has not seen her husband since Christmas. As I said, he is in the Air Force, and works with computers as a systems analysts. A very smart boy. I am very proud of my girls and my new son-in-law. What does your daughter do and where is she stationed?

Dear Kara, I am Praying for you.I know God can open doors and remember He is your Father. You can go to Him anytime and pour out your heart to Him. He hears and He answers.
I have not been in your situation but when I was stressed I'd just get in the car and go to the park and read a good book. Just getting away for a short time works wonders. Please read 2 Corinthians 1:3-4. God the Father is the source of every mercy and the One who so wonderfully comforts and strengthens us in our hardships and trails. Big hugs !!

Hi Hon-
I know what it's like. The financial pressure just adds fuel to the fire- I'm so sorry. You know you're not alone but I'm sure you feel like it an awful lot of the time. You are a lot stronger than you are giving yourself credit for. With everything you have been through and are going through - it is not easy and even if you are hanging on by your fingernails you are hanging on ;)

Kara is a more unusual name- one of the reasons I chose it for my daughter. Do you pronounce yours Care-A or Car-A ? My daughter's is Car-A, I think more pronounce it Care-A.

Something else for you to think about- have you ever contacted an Alternatives for Battered Women place for a support meeting? I did this and attended a couple of group type support meetings. Yes- it applies for emotional/ verbal abuse. I know that may be hard to hear- it was for me- and it was really hard to go- but it was really helpful for me to take that step. (In case you're wondering- I'm still married.)
Hugs and prayers-
Paulette

Kara--I understand about emotional/verbal abuse. Please send me an e-mail if you'd like to talk. We can do a chat or even talk on a cell phone this weekend. Please don't think you have to be alone through anything that's going on, okay?

Hi Kara-
(my daughter's name is Kara:))
Congratulations on your job offer! I hope you can find the light in there.

Are you ok? That verbal/emotional abuse comment is hitting close to home for me if I am understanding you.
