Hi Karen, how are you? Just thought I would check in and see how Adam is. Michael is still out on patrol. Tomorrow is his birthday. He got his new orders for next year and is coming to San Diego. We are very excited. He said when he gets back to the base in Bahrain he is getting his hair cut. It must be pretty long after 2 months at sea. Hope all is well, Laura

Hi Karen, my nephew's name is Keith Meyer. He works in the copy area at the office depot there. Don't know if you shop there or not. It is a small world. Hope Adam is doing ok and that you have heard from him. Michael called the other day to say a quick hi. We still haven't heard if he got his leave approved or where his next duty station is. I keep waiting for that email or phone call. Have a blessed day, Laura

Karen - my daughter is heading to Bahrain as an MA and we are from Litchfield - hey there neighbor! How long has your son been in Bahrain? Does he like it there? Michelle is now home for 12 days before heading out - sniff, sniff - she leaves just prior to Thanksgiving - go figure. Take care.

Hi karen, My son is ready to take his PO exam but for some reason they won't let him take the test. He lives on base with a roommate. He had some friends that lived off base but they have gone to new duty stations in Guam and the Bahamas. I am in California. I have a nephew who lives in Nashua. I would love to get to that part of the country to see the fall colors. Here in Ca. we have two seasons, winter and summer. I will ask Michael if he is on patrol with Adam next time I email him or if he calls. My email is dlmb4@sbcglobal.net. How long has your son been in the Navy? Mine has been in for two years now. We hope that his next duty station is here in the states. If not he is going to Europe, either Spain or Italy. All good choices. Take care and have a blessed day, Laura

Hi Karen, sounds like our boys do the samething. Michael is also a Master at Arms. He is on a mission also. He also won't be back until almost Thanksgiving. Michael just said that one time the USO showed up and fed them for some holiday. I am not sure where they are located. I send my son tuna packets, microwavable soups and pastas. He does have a tendancy to eat in town alot when he is back at the base. Wouldn't that be something if they were on the same ship. Michael won't say where they are. They have been out now for almost two months. He will spend another birthday on patrol. He is going to be 22. He has been in Bahrain for a year and a half. He gets his new duty station soon and leaves there in April 2009. Laura

Karen: I saw your post on the main page..read it and found out your son is in the Special Security Mobile Force. My son is attending "A" school in Texas right now and the Mobile Security Force is what he hopes to do. Is this something your son got into right after "A" school or was there more training after Lackland? I see you're from New Hampshire....what a beautiful state! Julie

Hi Karen - got your message; thanks. I'm new at this stuff too - if you'd like to email me you're welcome to send to - jbatie114@yahoo.com. It might be easier; I'm always checking my emails but I've been on this site alot recently trying to get as much info about the navy stuff as possible. When did your son Adam get out of bc? And where did he go after A School? And what's so special about the "Special Mobil Security Forces"? It all sounds pretty scarry to me. Scott didn't get to E3 yet cause he just graduated bc on August 1st. When did Adam leave for Bahrain and when do you think he'll be able to come home for vacation?? So many questions - hope you don't mind. thanks - jayne (I sent this message to you last evening - but don't think it went through so I'm sending it again. I have no idea where it went to!!!)

Hi - I noticed that you are online now. I really don't know if Scott signed up for the special forces or not. He just told me that he decided to sign for 2 years in Bahrain instead of 1 year only cause he'd be able to travel more and it wouldn't be "boring"!!! Just to add to my craziness!!

Hi Karen - I left a message a little while ago but who knows if it went to you or just out there. Please let me know if you got it. I'd be interested to know more about what your son is doing there in Bahrain. It sounds like something Scott will be doing also. thanks - jayne
