Hi Kathey, The only information I know is the Battlestations group but it doesn't have much. Someone has added that Division 062 will doing Battlestations tomorrow night so if that is the case we won't know anything until Thursday. I am hoping that it is tonight. I am not sure what it means when they get the last night. Are you going to be at PIR?

I pushed the wrong button and I wasn't finished. I wanted to ask about Luke. I see he is going to be a firefighter. My oldest daughter was a firefighter for 3 years. It was a vol fire dept. very small but I was very proud of her. Luke will learn so much and be guarenteed a job just about any where after he gets out. What a noble profession! Im proud of all these young men. Soooo proud. Motherhood is an interesting journey... Not like anything I would have ever dreamed or planed! Well gotta go to bed. You, Luke and all the moms and guys are in my prayers. Good night.

Hi Kathey, I am going on Christmas Eve to GL to see Dust on Christmas day. My husband Dustin's step dad has to work so he can't drive up with me but he's flying up Christmas Day around noon. I am so anxious to see Dust. I am staying at the Residence Inn. And they let you bring your dog so Im surprising Dust and bringing her up with me at Christmas. I bought her a set of antlers to wear! LOL He loves our dog. He told me he really misses her. He will just lose it when he sees her!! He says he's OK but he really misses everyone allot! It's hard to keep it together when he talks like that... When he finally called home he only got to talk for 5 min. I was so upset I cried all evening. Then 2 days later the phone rang in the middle of the day and it was Dust!! I couldn't believe it. He said they let him make another call home since his other call was cut short. I didn't waste time asking him for any other details. I was just so glad to hear his voice. He said he wanted me to adopt him for Christmas. I'm like what? He told me the deal and I said " Yes Yes Yes I'll be there absolutely!! He said "Im sorry it's so far to drive Mom. It's allot to ask for you to be away from everyone at Christmas. But if you could come up it would mean allot to me!!" I couldn't hardly keep from crying. He has CHANGED into this humble young man that I can't wait to put my arms around. Now I have to pray for good weather. But God willing I'll get up there on Christmas Eve to set up the room for our Christmas together. I am bringing a small Christmas tree, photos of past Christmas, Music, his laptop and his favorite PJs. I'm making dinner in the room. The biggest juicest steaks I can find, baked potatoe, and salad. Nice Christmas table with candles and plates from home. And a plate of all his favorite cookies!! I wish everyone could be up there for Christmas. Just like in the movie White Christmas! Wouldn't that be awesome...

Hi son job is az he has school in mississippi, i will be flying in for his graduation, i am afraid to drive in the snow, dont know how to get from the airport to the hotel, will arrive on thursday and leavev out on monday probably.

Hey! It took about 15 minutes (maybe 20 or so if the traffic was super heavy). We loved it there. If it works out for us to go for his Aschool graduation, we will definitely stay there again!

Hi Kathey,
Patrick had his wisdom teeth pulled a month before he left. He was afraid that he could get set back or sent home, and we knew they were beginning to bother him. He was glad he did because he said he probably had longer to recover being at home. Pat only had two wisdom teeth, so it was probably an easier recovery for him. He got one bad cold, which they gave him antibiotics for, but didn't end up with any down time. If you have relatives in Chicago I'm sure they know all the fun things to do. My husband had been there years before and knew the main tourist attractions in the area. He's a whiz of a tour guide so it was fun. We got up early and did as much as we could each day. The guys usually have duty during that weekend, which can break up the day, making it hard to be too far from base. The day of graduation Pat had duty at 6pm, so we went to Gurnee Mills Mall and to eat, of course. Sat. and Sun. he had "snow watch", there was no snow, so he was able to be gone from 8am until 8pm. Sorry about the wisdom teeth. That's a big deal and can be painful for days. I hope he's past the worst. Valley

We stayed at the Springhills Suites by Mariott in Waukegan (it's right across the street from Wal-Mart, assorted restaurants, and other stores). It had continental breakfast (including hot foods), indoor swimming pool, rooms with 2 queen sized beds, a living room (with couch that makes out into another bed), microwave, refridgerator, internet & cable. We paid $89 a night (PIR discount). This hotel is only a few months old, it is super clean, and the staff is wonderful!

Hi Kathey, We did go to graduation and stayed at the Residence Inn. It's very convenient and we were able to get to the base quickly. They have an exceptional continental breakfast, which saved alot of time in the mornings, as we were always anxious to get on the road asap. Our PIR group set up a meet-and-greet at Flanagan's Restaurant the night before graduation and it was fun. I really enjoyed meeting all the ladies I had been communicating with on Navy for Moms. We did lots of sightseeing while there. I'd be happy to share what we learned to save you time, if you like. We enjoyed our time with Patrick so much, it was hard to say goodbye. Even harder than when we sent him to boot camp. He calls every day, which is great. I hope your son is having a good boot camp experience and writes often so your won't worry. The first line in Patrick's first letter home was, " I wan't you all to know that I am fine and everything is going well here." He knew I would be worried. Good Luck, Valley

Hi Kathey, don't worry about returning it just pass it along to another Navy Mom, he graduated BC so we are done with that phase and maybe others could use the book now. Enjoy!
