I'm enjoying catching up and wondering who I might run into this weekend at RPI.

Is Navy for Teens just at high schools, or is it a community group? I have a son who might be interested in something like that, but he doesn't go to school.

Our son finished his application in June and he heard before Thanksgiving. He began the process shortly after the new year, as soon as the application was available online, and the recruiter had him doing most of the paperwork, along with the inte...

It was great to meet some NROTCU RPI moms on Sunday! I wish I could have visited with you more. Kerri, we sat in front of you at the parent's meeting on 8/17 but didn't get to speak to you Sunday. Hopefully we'll get to meet a bit more during Pare...

Paulette, she was extremely nice to talk to! I recognized her from your photos, and introduced myself, and thanked her for helping answer so many of my questions this summer. Thanks for the update, I love hearing what they've been doing! As I ment...

Our son is in Newport as well! I don't expect to hear from Mr. Independent this week, but I know he'll have a great time.

Paulette, it's good to hear some news of our group there, even if it's not terrific news! I got to meet your daughter Monday and enjoyed talking to her. I know they are taking good care of the newbies and we felt confident about leaving our son wi...

We'll be heading to RPI on Sunday afternoon...Our son is to report on Monday morning. Yes, it's so hard! But like some of you have said, I'm ready to get this started after a summer of preparation. I know he is, too!

NavymomBarb, can't tell you how comforting this is...Paulette's comment, too, since our son will be at the same school. He's always been in pretty good shape but worked 6 days a week over the summer, often long hours (for a dairy farmer) and didn'...

Hi KP! Sorry I didn't get back to you before you left...we were gone all last week. How was your SO? I'm looking forward to meeting you, too. Before Aug. 16 I'll try and put a real picture on my page so you know who to look for. Did you find the ...

Sorry to jump in on a different note, but I had a quick question: does anyone recall about when during the freshman yr. their child got dates for their CORTRAMID cruise? Just curious and thinking ahead...

KP: just got back from SO I at RPI. It was very fun and exciting! I talked to the bursar's office yesterday, and they said we don't have to cover anything. The Navy doesn't pay until about October, but as long as they know what's coming and how mu...

Hi Ashley! I want to say how impressed I am with your question, and the fact that you want to help your mom through this process. Be patient with her! It is HUGE for us to send our children to college to begin with, and NROTC adds another dimensio...

Hi Kay! That's so great- My daughter is actually going to be one of the staff
that will be working with the incoming class at O-Week this summer :) The rumor is that the incoming class is really big - about 35. In comparison- Kara's class was really small- about 18 (one of the smallest ever). Last year was the first time RPI took their unit to Newport and it worked out great so I'm glad they are doing it again. Overall I have been really impressed with the Unit- officers and upperclassmen. It is very active and your son will no doubt fill up most of his spare time with ROTC. Any questions- please feel free to ask! Thanks- Paulette

Welcome aboard!!

We are so glad that you are here! This is a great place to meet others that know exactly how you feel!
We have something for everyone here groups from boot camp moms to overseas moms and moms that like to scrap book. We have meet and greets to events that the moms set up to meet each other and have dinner or an outing. There are groups to help you with each and every step of this wonderful adventure that our children have chosen called the US Navy.

Please tell us about your sailor and what they have chosen to do in the navy and ohh yeah we LOVE pictures of everyone !!

Please let me know if you have any questions I can help you with.
