I am here to support or represent my:
Child/Stepchild
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Officer
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
I come from a military background, but when it is your own child - it certainly changes the dynamics of emotions.
Our son is back on reserve status, hopefully he will not be recalled again anytime soon.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Hey Kelly,
Just wanted to touch base with other Navy mom's in the area!! I am in Hendersonville.
My son is in boot camp and will have his PIR on 12/30. I did find one other mom in Goodlettsville. Her son left for BC the week after my son Miles. It is hard being away from your fellow during the holidays.
I hope we can get some event put together with some other Navy Mom's from the area.

I have a CD player, and I think my mom has several CD books... that's a good idea, Kelly--thanks! I just don't look forward to that much driving! It's been over a year since I've been on a road trip longer than 2 hours! It was to see my sailor at his PIR, and that trip was supposed to take 6 hours (but I got lost more than once, and it took 11!)... 10 just to get there might be more than my mom and I can handle! She is almost 81, and I am no Spring chicken myself!

No, the swap has not been made yet... if it takes place over Thanksgiving, it will be my mom for company and that means a hotel not a timeshare condo... the other lady is not keen on being away from her family and I don't blame her. It's just that my mom is 80, and can't help with any of the driving, so it will be an exhausting trip for me... of course, Ethan will be doing all of the driving on his end, too...

I have to drive to North Tennessee to meet up with my son and swap vehicles... what are the roads like there? Is there a good Interstate that I can get on from the North so that I won't be backtracking and save on gas... a friend is coming with me, and we can stay at a timeshare condo pretty easily, I think...

Ethan is gonna look into whether he can send Nicole to her mom's and stay on base until he can actually get moved from his old apartment to a new, safer one. If he can't, maybe he can put their stuff into storage and bunk in with somebody off-base for just a few days...

Ethan is looking at putting in 60 days' notice, but if there isn't an apartment for them to move into, it costs $60 a day for them to live there until a spot opens for them elsewhere.

Hi again.

Thank you very much for the information. You are the first one to be able to tell me how to get the flag. My doctor told me about it, but she didn't know how to get it. She also told me about the one with the gold star. I pray that we won't have to use it. I wish nobody would ever need it.

Olympia is beautiful. We live on the dry side, but it's warm in the summer and the sun shines so I love it. Outlook is 35 miles SE of Yakima.

I've never been to TN, but my daughter's brother in law lives in Nashville.

Well I have to run. Thanks again for the information.

Peace Be With YOU and yours,
Charla
