They are all intimidated , scared and upset when this happens there are many kinds of discharges, you can look it up on About.com. It is up to your daughter how hard she wants to fight it, but she is limited in her ability to fight for herself there. They still have to follow all Navy rules and regulations, and have less freedom than a convict in jail. You can call legal about her, to ask to have the second opinion. They will call her in and you will get more time to talk to her. I have the number posted on Ship 17 moms.

Kenis, your daughter can ask for a second opinion. Having the medical records sent from her doctor and records that shows the ability to do normal activity could help too.Call legal listed at top of Ship 17 moms. Whatever you are going to do, I guarantee legal will be closed Friday thru sun.

Hi Kenis
So your daughter is going to be an OS too. My son is scheduled to grad 8/15, but I know that can change. He will stay in Great Lakes too. Thanks for the comment earlier. It is so great to meet all the other Moms

Hi, I'm not sure how it works either. Amber is a hm, she was one of the last to get that, they are not taking female hm for now. She enlisted a year ago when she was a junior. Hope you can make it. It is a once in a life time event. Ya it's a lot sooner than we thought to. I wrote Amber to see if she knows your daughter. That would be neat. We hope and pray that Brittany will be ok with her health. My youngest daughter is going in a year from now.

My daughter left on June 16th. She is in dev. 286 on ship 07. She is 18 and this is so hard for me because she is my best friend. She will graduate with your daughter. I can't wait for that first letter from her. God Bless!

Kenis - You're on the ball! I think it's good news that you haven't heard from your daughter because Jim had to call us when he was sent to Ship 17, although I don't know if everybody does. Your sending her medical forms up to Great Lakes will really help her. You're right about everybody getting yelled at for something in boot camp! That's just part of the experience from what I can tell. Hope this gets straightened out soon -- send funny cards! If she keeps her spirits up and keeps working hard, I'll bet it all works out in her favor.

woo hoo as long as she stays in the division and continues with the training that is a huge plus cont to encourage her. As Ellen stated they do offre them to go home right off as long as she cont to say no and does what is ask of her to supprot her continuing she can do this. Unfortunatly this all takes time and it is frustrating to us as we want to make it right for them and to have it all completed right away. Hang in there and tell her to keep up the good work!
