You should get a letter from her commander that will tell you what you can send and what is not permitted. They have very little room to store stuff so they really don't want you to send them anything, all I send is stamps and pictures. If you view…

When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:

Through this Navy experience, I now believe:

Graduation From Boot Camp

I am a little concerned as my daughter Kenni will be graduating next week on July 24, 2009 and we have not received our packet confirming the graduation and tickets or what ever they provide. Should we not have gotten this package at least in time to make our travel arrangements (already done)?

Confused in New Mexico

I got a letter from my daughter Kenni yesterday (very excited) and was confused at what she was saying. She noted that the division that she is in is "Grad and Go Division" which is defined as "A Boot Camp graduate who leaves for the next duty station three hours after graduation" This does not make me to happy I was hoping we had all weekend to spend with her. She also states that she has heard rumors that her "A" school may be on hold for up to three months and she will probably get to take le… Continue

Thanks for the welcome! I have already found out allot of stuff on this website it is great! My sister Cristal who is a LT in the Navy is also a great source of information and has helped give my daughter advise and help navigating through most of the planning phase of her enlistment. My daughter will go to her A school in Pensacola Florida to learn Aircraft Mechanics??? She also would like to do the physical test for search and rescue or something like that? She is due to graduate from BC on July 24 and I am so excited to see her! Kenni's Mom Myra
