Hi Kim and welcome to the TR group. My son has been with the TR for almost 5 years. He gets out this June, unless he pulls a last minute decision...he's done that before. I'm also a retired navy/coast guard wife and we live in Cali. Hey I rooted for the Cardinals...I thought we had a chance there for a while - Take care.
Welcome Kim from Pittsburgh, PA. Home of the Pittsburgh Steelers! My Son has been on the TR for 5 years now. This is his second deployment. Welcome again!

Hey Kim..just stopping in to say hi..see how your doing. Its kind a funny the way we met. Hope all is well with you. How is your son doing in A school. Brian is in Mississippi right now..in a shelter because of Hurricane Gustav. He said that Keesler AFB is flooded. Im not sure when he will be able to get back to the barracks. His spirits are good. He has his cell phone with him..so we can talk when ever we want. Im loving it. Take care and keep in touch. Love ya...Nancy
Kim, Im so glad we got to meet! how funny that two gals from AZ would end up right next to each other in line! please keep in touch and we will have to get together in the future.
Kim- I saw your message on the Pendacola FL A school group, and thought I'd touch base with you. My name is Irene and my son PIR'd on June 27th and arrived at Pensacola on July 3rd. He is also Aviation Mechanics. I just spoke with him yesterday and he still has NO IDEA when his classes are going to start. The Navy has been keeping the boys busy doing PT and watching Naval history movies, and then more PT. The sailors are bored so when they get liberty on the weekend, they shell out the $20 for a cab ride to go to the mall. Where they spend more money. My son has blown more money in the last 2 months than he has in the last 2 years! Oaky , maybe that is an exaggeration, but it sure seems like it! LOL!! Anyway, I just wanted to meet you and make a connection with you. -- Irene
Hi Kim...just stopping by to say hi. I'm so glad I got to meet you...if only for a few minutes. Congratulations to you and your family..and your new sailor :) We got a call yesterday and Brian just got to Mississippi where he will be spending the next 94 days. He sounded tired and anxious..but he said he was excited to start the next phase. Hope all is well with you. Take care and please keep in touch. Nancy :)
He left the Wed. after PIR for Goose Creek, SC. He finally started school just yesterday! It's good, as there was too much time to spend at the mall while waiting out his liberty weekend time.
