Almost there

Well, She graduates on the 26th! I can't wait to see her for the first time. Are there any other Mom's out there that will be attending the meet and greet at the pizza place on the 25th of September? My daughter's in Div 360 on the USS Theodore Roosevelt.
I am so excited!!!! I have had such an emotional time with her gone. I don't guess that my heart was ready to have her gone already, it just won't accept it. Mostly I'm good but I have my moments when I am teetering on being ok and being close… Continue

Kim

I got the Form letter!!

Well today is the 12th of August and I got the form letter that everyone sends! It made me happy to have an address for my Daughter Cat. Kind of puts you at ease a bit. I am currently writing her a letter and would love to know if anyone else has a kid in Division 306 on the USS Theodore Roosevelt? I can't wait for graduation day! I know that I will get emotional when I see her in uniform for the first time....Happy Tears!!!

Well Sheri & I both have reservations at the Ramada Waukegan. It was about average for the area and it has a pool. Doreen is at the Navy Lodge (no pool). I know my daughter went to see her fiance's PIR last July and stayed at the Super 8 and was satisfied. So I guess it's what ever you are comfortable with in amenities and what's available for your length of stay.

Hi Kim. I was reading a comment somewhere else and saw your daughter flew out Monday but didn't arrive until Tuesday. That happened to my son also--left DFW around 2:30, delayed for almost 3 hours in Houston, and then his plan got diverted to Indianapolis late Monday night. He called me from Ohare around 2:30 Tuesday and they were waiting for the bus. He said there were quite a few girls amoung the 40 recruits he was waiting with and many had the same travel problems. (the bus was also late due to mechanical problems--great start, huh!) I finally got the 'I'm here, I'm safe, and my next contact will be in two to three weeks' around 6:30 last night. Its going to be so hard not to talk to him for so long. I have 3 boys, he's the oldest, and the one I'm closest too. After he would go out with his friends or girlfriend he would come in my bedroom around midnight and talk to me until I'd kick him out. Your photos are great!

Dear Kim,
I know we worry, it's our nature, they are our babies !
Especialy with girls, I know I was more afraid of that. There are so many girls now in the Military. They sleep together and shower together. They only see the guys when they have to do the physical testing and what not.
That trip to Chicago was my first plane ride. UGH !!! I survived! I told Kim, only for you I did that!! Thank God it was only a two hour trip.
Please stay in touch.
Take care and God bless.
