Hello, all--I'm new to the Reserves group. My daughter is going from active duty to reserves so she can finally go to college. She was in the AT rating, but it seems the local reserves don't have a need for it so she's considering an AO rating sin...
For anyone who has a Sailor in the Reserves. Lets talk...
OK--finally got all my photos uploaded of the Boxer. I put them on Webshots so they wouldn't have to go through the N4Ms review process.

Dry dock is where they pull the ship up out of water in a special dock so they can work on all the stuff underneath the ship. It's not a small task so it's something that lasts a few months. I think my daughter said they were scheduled to "maybe" ...
By the way, everyone--the ship is transitioning to their off-ship work locations. The Boxer is going into dry dock and I believe everything (equipment and personal belongings) has to be off the ship this week and into the floating offices/berths. ...

IdahoMom said… - Marc, oldest, is on the Frigate Nickolas, stationed in Norfolk, VA right now. Marc graduated in 03 from Hillcrest. He will be deployed later in the year. He served 4 years on the Eisenhower, and had a 9 mo deployment. Andy is in the NROTC program at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He has one more year until he graduates. He has been in Hawaii for a month on his flight cruise. He graduated in 05 from Hillcrest. Where did your daughter graduate from? Will she be done after this or is she staying in ?

- Single mom with one daughter--we both enjoy the outdoors of Idaho. As a side, my father is the local ASVAB tester (started after my daughter joined up) and is retired Army National Guard. My brother retired from the USAF a few years ago. Various uncles, cousins and other relatives in the military as well.
