Ship Date August 28

My son is shipping out on Tuesday and I'm having such a hard time with it. Every time I think about him leaving I cry, no matter where I am. I try to keep up with what he is going to be going through, how to prepare him and myself through rhis website but every time I log into Navy For Moms to do my research I end up crying and log off. I'm so very proud of him. It's getting harder and harder to keep the tears in the closer it gets to Tuesday. I won't cry in front of him because I dont want him…See More

Profile Information

About me:
I am the mother to 2 amazing young men. My oldest is Austin who is pursuing a degree in Engineering and my youngest son is Alex who recently decided to chose to join the Navy. I was an emotional wreck when Austin graduated last year and I'm just as emotional about Alex graduating in June and leaving for boot camp August 28th. I am very proud of both my boys as I was a single parent and was always nervouse about how they would turn out. Needless to say I could not be more proud of them.
I am here to support or represent my:
Son/Daughter
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Waiting to leave for Boot Camp
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.
