Also, you mentioned that the fiance had been in San Diego for 8 weeks with the Marines. Is he a Corpsman? (there's a great N4M group for that too. My son is one) Did you mean Camp Pendelton? If so, that is FMTB training, not a "C" school. Those "C" school slots are harder to get and are for specializing in the HM field, like for lab tech or dentistry for example. FMTB/FMF training is a whole 'nother thing and many males are going though that this year. They then have a chance of being attatched to a Marine DIv and being deployed to "the sandbox" Which brings me to my final question.
I'm curious who told your daughter that Reservists were going before Active Duty. At least for Corpsmen, I'd been told that they often use Reservists to "backfill" stateside positions for AD Sailors who had been deployed. Sure would make a diffrence to your daughter's fiance-and her- as well as my son if it was the other way around more often then not. Let me know what you hear please. Take care and stay in touch w/the Reserve moms! Best wishes to both of your Sailors! :-)
I thought there was more training involved before deployment..sorry have alot of questions. thanks!
My name is Catherine the Admin and I want to thank you for joining us! To help you know the “Do’s and Don’ts” for the community- I wrote up a quick little ditty for you to read. So click here and read them (pretty please with a cherry on top because the rules are enforced)! If you have any questions, comments, or concerns afterwards- please don’t hesitate to contact me.
So, enjoy your time here and I'm looking forward (along with the community) to reading more about you. :D
Sincerely, Catherine
Our postcard project is going great, but we don't have any from MI! We got wonderful information and postcards from North Dakaota, the kids(students) want to take a hunting trip...LOL! We also got cards from Maine, Rhode Island, etc. It's great! Navyformoms is great! If you would like to help out with our project please visit my classroom website: http://www.myteacherpages.com/webpages/VWood/ Delete Comment

We have something for everyone here groups from boot camp moms to overseas moms and moms that like to scrap book. We have meet and greets to events that the moms set up to meet each other and have dinner or an outing. There are groups to help you with each and every step of this wonderful adventure that our children have chosen called the US Navy.
