Lane is in the Honor's College (need high entrance test score) - lots of perks for those students. Lane studied with OU in Italy over summer at minimal cost to us under the Honor's College program. Another PLUS at OU that Ben sounds like he would qualify for - open to all majors and certain classes with fewer students. Lane had a like scholarship offer at U of Col - was real interested, but think he's glad he's at OU - too much of an OU Sooner fan to switch!! Just wanted to throw in the Honors College as another draw!!

If Ben's interested in ROTC, am quite certain OU has it - not sure which service branch/branches. The Air Force base (with sailors too) is close by in Okla. City. (Norman, where OU is located, is the southern suburb of Okla. City and I live in the northern suburb.)

Let me know how the campus visits at those 2 schools went!

Thanks for accepting my friendship and for your prayers;) We need all the help we can get and am glad to see you in the chat room. I joke about wanting to go to everyones graduation but it really is fun. It was great to see my boy out there feeling so good about himself and knowing that we were so proud of him. We also were there for the kids that didnt have family there to celebrate with them and after we hugged our son forever, my husband and i reached out to the ones that didnt have their loved ones with them as they seemed so lonely. Fact is we were proud of all of them and it was one of the best moments in our lives and i will never forget it. So sure i would love to go to all of them and when im invited and my health permits, I will be there as often as i can. God Bless and look forward to getting to know your family;)

Thank you for sharing that story on the chat room about your son at the grocery store and the Iraqi woman. I was very glad I got to read that and admire the man for what he said. That was awesome!

Hi,
Thanks for adding me as a friend. My name is Gina and if there is anything I can help you with as far as understanding what I know about the SEAL/s just let me know. Some things have changed in the last 5 years but it is all basically the same. When my son became a SEAL he went from bootcamp to A school and then Bud/s. I hear now if they get a contract to try for the SEAL/s they go from bootcamp to Pre Bud/s and if they make it from that they go to Bud/s. If they do not make it through Bud/s then they go to A school. It is pretty much the same just switched around a little. I found talking to other military moms has helped me out a lot in the last 5 years. -gina

My daughter, Ashley (20), has been in the Navy since July 2007 and is an IT3 & my son Tim (19) has been in since Feb 2008 stationed on the USS Nimitz.. What is your son doing with the Navy?
